Do they create the schedule based off of the Lake Highlands results for D1. Is it based off the points earned in group play or the original seeding? Is there any method to the schedule?

Pretty sure they just plug them in based on the order of finish in the QT/how they are listed in the results documents, then schedule them from there. I don't think they worry too much about the order since everyone plays each other twice, so if it isn't "seeded" no one cares.

I thought that seeding was important in that the top seeds get an easier schedule in the Fall (and that State cup seeding is based on league standings at the conclusion of the Fall). Correct me if my understanding is incorrect.

I would imagine some of the teams with newer additions are hoping for a tougher schedule in the spring so they have time to gel as a team.

You play everybody once in the fall and once in the spring. The only problem may be a game postponed in the fall due to weather that has to be rescheduled in the spring. Other than that, it doesn't matter. Everyone plays the same opponents.

Not in U11. You only play each team once. 20 teams in D1.

My bad. I guess I should have checked the year I was posting about.

So, regarding year one....I can't remember back that far.

I believe if you can figure out the order of placement from this year's and last year's QT, you can look at last year's schedule and predict out this year's schedule to some degree. I was able to do so for my DD's team last year.

QT placement should be based on:

#1-#12 based on % of total possible points scored in week 1 of the QT (A tie in points % is awarded to the team from the "higher" bracket - Bracket A = Highest, Bracket L = Lowest).
#13-#19 week 2 pool winners ranked in order of points scored in week 2 of the QT (A tie in points % is awarded to the team from the "higher" bracket - Bracket A = Highest, Bracket G = Lowest).
#20 the 2nd place wildcard team from week #2 that qualified for D1 (TFC).

So, I think QT placement from this year is:

1) Dallas Texans
2) Dallas Texans South
3) Solar Chelsea Dynamo
4) Fever Red
5) FC Dallas Premier
6) Waco Lady Blast
7) Andromeda FC Red
8 ) Solar Chelsea Red
9) Sting
10) FC Dallas South Red
11) Sting East
12) FC Dallas Blue
13) Solar Chelsea Gio
14) Cosmos Black
15) Sting Central Parker
16) D'Feeters
17) Dynasty
18) FC Premier
19) Liverpool Thompson
20) TFC

Last Year's QT placement was:

1) Solar Red
2) Sting
3) FC Dallas Premier
4) TFC
5) Kicks SC
6) Dallas Texans
7) Dallas Texans Red North
8 ) Andromeda
9) Dallas Texans North
10) Dallas Texans Ft. Worth
11) Solar Chelsea
12) FC Dallas West
13) Solar Chelsea White
14) Kicks White
15) Lady Aztecs
16) D'Feeters
17) Tx. Spirit North
18) Liverpool Rush
19) Sting East
20) Redstar

Once the week #1 schedule is posted, you should be able to confirm the QT placement results, because week #1 schedule will be:

1 v 20
2 v 19
3 v 18
4 v 17
5 v 16
6 v 15
7 v 14
8 v 13
9 v 12
10 v 11

After week #1, the schedule does NOT necessarily follow a clearly logical pattern (i.e. #1 doesn't necessarily play #19 in week 2, #18 in week 3, #17 in week 4 etc...).

Also, last year's schedule as it appears on the LH website right now is what the schedule looked like AFTER rainout and conflict reschedules, not what the original schedule looked like.

So... it will probably be difficult for you to figure out the exact order of your opponents. However, if you can figure out this year's QT placement order, and match it up with last year's placement order, you should be able to figure out which teams you will play in the fall season vs. the spring season.

If you qualified 14th, you are likely in for a long Fall season.

Yes being in the 14,15 spot makes for a brutal fall season

This is where those of us on the bottom 1/3 of that list start the marketing campaign to our DDs: "Playing incredibly hard teams will make us better, and that's more important than winning for now." I'm hoping my 10 year old can grasp something like that, even though many adults can't. Rolling Eyes
