League Challenge Cup Finals Winner

My DD played in yesterday's U90 League Championship semi and came up short against the Kicks. The score between the Kicks and Webb for the finals still isn't posted. I am sure it was a great game. Anyone know who won it?

I heard Webb's team was a no show for finals

Fact:  The game didn't play.

Rumor:  She had starters playing on the '08' team in lower 07 Division(which lost anyway), so, couldn't make it.

There was a change in the schedule, near game time. The teams went to different locations - Webb to the "new" location, per the tournament and Kicks went to the original field...when the Kicks were notified by the tournament director, more than an hour before kickoff, they refused to drive from Moneygram to The Pit. It's my understanding that the 1st place is awarded to FC Dallas, from a Kicks forfeit.

The "08s" were playing at 3:45 at the PIT. The 07s were scheduled to play 4:15 at MG. Even if the 07 game was moved to the PIT, how were the "07 starters" going to play in their game?

The schedule still says this morning that the final game was at Moneygram.

Were the 07 starters playing on both teams in the tournament?

GotSoccer still this morning has the game at MG 3B, that hasn't changed all weekend. Did TD just not change it in GS?

Sounds like Webb played a game to try and win 2 divisions w same players, and lost both due to scheduling...

If players were playing on two teams in the same age bracket, then it is a clear violation of the tournament rules.

From Tourney Rules:

d. A player may play on two different teams in the same tournament, provided ALL
of the following requirements are met:
i. Teams are in two different age groups
ii. Player is age eligible for both age groups
iii. Player listed on the game reports for both teams at check-in
iv. Player listed on the Gotsoccer roster for both teams prior to check-in

It appears she broke the rules.  Some would say cheated. Should be a FCD forfeit.

No dog in this fight, I was hunting all weekend and dd nursing an injury...

However, I have seen a picture of the Kicks girls and coaches wearing medals and holding the 1st place trophy... So, don't think Kicks forfeited, goscore!, you might recheck your info.

Ok!! I've been wrong before once...I don't know anything about it for sure, which is why I wrote it was my understanding...I just saw something posted on FB about it LOL

Glad you guys figured this out, but it still doesn't address the allegation of whether players were used on different teams in the same age bracket.

It's not an allegation it's truth.....

Just boring…even if true who cares.-she used her own players to play in a different division and nobody is claiming they broke any age rules, they apparently were not trophy hunting given you said they lost the finals.. Most teams (maybe even Kat’s) bring in guests from other coaches all over the place- it’s all just noise.

My take is just play who is on the field as long as they are the appropriate age and level-move on. The trophies/medals are worth $2- the development value of your dd’s playing potentially better players and getting challenged should be worth more than that, no?

If a coach breaks the tournament rules, he/she should have to forfeit the games. This is what is wrong with everything in our country now. People say, "what rules?" I don't have to follow laws and rules, and then do what they want to do. That is not fair to the dd's who teams/coaches are following the rules, and are trying to win games and get in the semis or finals legitimately.

Or maybe the problem is kids growing with participation trophies- needing cry-ins, comfort puppies and exams cancelled, if they don't win. I am not justifying rules being broken, but I am sure the coaches and TD will work that out, but sounds more like a speeding ticket than a criminal offense. Also, sounds like the kids across the board were challenged with good competition and it probably aided in their development, but maybe that is a secondary concern here......................................................

Your right I came from Richardson and Plano kicked our butt every year back then....never mind you are right that was unfair Plano enrollment was ridiculous back then- I am filing a protest right now.
