NEW Academy League for Fall 2011- Dallas Invitational Academy League (DIAL)
The Dallas Invitational Academy League (DIAL), a NEW academy league for U7, U8, U9 and U10 BOYS and GIRLS teams, announces it is accepting applications/registrations for Fall 2011 play. Visit our website at www.DIALsoccer.org for more information and for online registration or call 214-221-0808 for additional information. Games will be played at the MOSS fields and the UTD fields.
DIAL will close out registrations on August 29, 2011. Team coaches/managers will be promptly notified at that time of their acceptance into DIAL and the division in which their team is assigned. Placement will be based on competitiveness of the teams. At this time, DIAL has commitments for top quality teams from a number of prominent clubs.
U9 & U10 games will be 25 minute halves; U7 & U8 will be 20 minute halves. Team play will be as follows: U10: 11v11; U9: 9v9; U7 & 8: 7v7.
The registration for each team is $550, which includes payment for a full referee crew for each game. The season will consist of approximately eight league games, played generally on Sunday afternoon, unless reschedules or other contingencies require other dates and times. Play will start September 11, 2011.

DIAL will need to get with the coaches now and start getting commitments on playing this league, so that the teams know that good competition will be participating. We have found that Sunday leagues are viable in the academy age groups. I would prefer to play at UTD instead of in Lewisville. But it will take more than posting on this site to get teams to sign up for their league.
Now, let's bring SDL in the conversation. Anyone know how they will replace the Andromeda fields for their league? Also, what is the consensus on the SDL price? (yes I have a dd in Select and understand that price sky rockets for select). If these leagues can run a league at $550 - $750 per team why can't SDL?

Soccer Academies
1. A “Soccer Academy” is a group of Under 7 through Under 10 registered NTSSA recreational players who desire to participate with other players without following the recreational team formation rules. Players must register with their home association and may or may not be on a recreational team, unless required to be on a recreational team by their home association. Academies are to be governed by NTSSA Youth Associations, and NTSSA Youth Associations may host as many Soccer Academies as they deem desirable. Academy teams are governed by the league in which they participate. (If more than one association is involved in an academy league an A&D committee should be in place.)
2. Coaches, trainers, administrators, etc., of Soccer Academies must have satisfactorily passed the criminal background check and information sent to NTSSA.
3. Soccer Academy play is in addition to recreational play. Players may join any Soccer Academy of their choosing within their age group, and are not required to obtain a release from their NTSSA recreational team to participate on an Academy team. Players must present a form of proof of registration signed by their home association registrar each time they participate with an Academy. Players may join as many Soccer Academies as they like as long as the Soccer Academy is recognized by a North Texas Soccer Member Youth Association. No formal contract or written commitment may be signed by or on behalf of the player to commit a player to an Academy team. The Academies may charge a fee to cover expenses in addition to the player’s recreational soccer registration fees. Academy players are limited to one (1) practice per week with each of their Academy team(s). Academy players may only play in one (1) Academy game per week, except tournaments. Academy players may participate in only one Academy tournament at a time. Violations of this rule shall result in sanctions against the offending party (coach, assistant coach, manager, parent, or other team representative).

And lets be real.. nobody pays attention to the "one practice" rule anyway.. might as well strike that out of there too. Along with the line about "if rec games conflict with Academy games , the recreational team games will come first.

Of course they follow this rule, ie Texans Academy players meet on Friday for "SKILLS SESSION" not practice.Slakemoth wrote:

Re: NEW Academy League for Fall 2011- Dallas Invitational Academy League (DIAL)
I think this area can put up some good competition if teams arent hung up on SDL. Good teams down this way that could play include Blitz, Rockets, Mustangs, Sting East, Texas Black Gold, maybe even Juve? I am sure there are others so sorry if i left you out. There's plenty of time for player development. We'll play the competition from up north in the NTSSA tournaments, come labor day and in fall. The way i see it, even if the U9 group doesnt make - we'll play up. Any other 03's interested? PS. The rankings were a nice touch for those watching SDL.
