Does this seeding look right for the 96's? And please reply with any name changes...

ECNL: 5 teams
Sting (1st D1)
D'Feeters (2nd D1)
Dallas Texans Red (4th D1)
Solar Blue (5th D1)
FC Dallas (6th D1)

D1: 8 teams
Solar '96 (3rd D1), aka Solar Dallas
DFW Tornados White (1st D2)
Solar Gold (2nd D2), aka Solar McKinney
Solar Red (7th D1), aka Solar Tarrant
FC Dallas South (8th D1)
Sting Royal (3rd D2)
Dallas Texans Red North (4th D2)
Mustangs FC (5th D2)

D2: 10 teams, increased from 9
Dallas Texans Red West (6th D2)
Texas Spirit North (7th D2)
Texas Longhorns (8th D2)
Andromeda (1st D3)
Solar White (2nd D3), aka Solar ???

It doesn't address every team, but it's a good start for D1/2.

keepersmom wrote:Solar Blue - 1st in D1 and Regional PL (if they have 50% of their roster)
DFW Tornadoes - 2nd in D1 and Regional PL (if they have 50% of their roster)
Solar Gold - 3rd in D1 and PL (if they have 50% of their roster)
Solar Red - 4th in D1 and PL (if they have 50% of their roster)
FC Dallas (formerly Revolution) 5th in D1 and PL (if they have 50% of their roster)
Sting Royal 6th in D1 and PL (if they have 50% of their roster)
Texans Red North 7th in D1
Mustangs 8th in D1

As of now for PL, if the teams do not have 50%, it will go to the next team in D1 that meets that requirement. I am assuming since none of the prior years' PL teams from NTX will be in PL, they may have to elect to send alternates. No idea how that will play out.

Regional PL is new and the NTX teams will play the RPL teams from diff teams in R3 (East, Central and West). Same concept for the Regional ECNL play. Only teams winning Regional PL will get a bye to Regionals. If a team wins PL, they will get promoted to play in Regional PL the following year.

Info from R3:

US Youth Soccer Region III Premier League and Regional Premier League
Beginning in the fall 2011 season we will have a Region III Regional League in the U15, U16, and U17 age groups. Each age group will consist of a ten team bracket. Regional Premier League will have four teams from East, four teams from the west, and two teams from the central. Teams will qualify into the Regional Premier League through prior year play. There will be promotion and relegation between the Regional Premier League and the three sub-regional Premier Leagues

Doubt a north Texas team makes the cut if only 4 are selected for Region III West.

How did this LHGCL Bye topic get hijacked into a Regional Premiere League discussion? You might want to start a separate thread.

Dallas Texans Red West (6th D2)
Texas Spirit North (7th D2)
Texas Longhorns (8th D2) Rumor has it the team has totally broken up don't know if the Longhorns will try another team but what was ASG Gold then Longhorns I know at least 8 girls who are on other teams
Andromeda (1st D3) Move to Sting and are now Sting Blue
Solar White (2nd D3), aka Solar ???
Sting West Royal (9th D2)
FC Dallas Black (3rd D3)
Sting West (4th D3)
ASG White (5th D3) moved to Sting and now Sting no color added i believe
DFW Tornados Blue (6th D3)

So not sure who would get the Longhorns/ASG Gold slot if they don't meet the retain rule.

I thought since the ECNL move none of the D3 teams would have to requalify which leaves 7 slots for qualifying. Should be an interesting qualifying.

my comments in red.
I understood the same as 96soccermom, no D3 team will have to requalify.

QT will fill all remaining D3 spots.

I re-read the LHGCL "special rules" for ECNL and the wording clear on all D3 teams getting a bye and not having to re-qualify:
In Division III, additional byes will be granted to returning Lake Highlands teams, up to the number of byes forfeited, with remaining spots being filled in the Qualifying Tournament.

But if Solar White is filling the Solar Red's D1 bye, who's filling the D2 bye?

If there were 9 teams in d3 and five left d1, then five teams move up leaving four teams in d3. The top four teams never have to requalify do they? The number of byes in d3 increased recently to 4 I thought.

It looks like Dallas Red WTX and Odyssey both move up to DII with Longhorns folding and Solar White getting DI bye. Only team remainingin DIII is Sting ETX.

Longhorns and Solar White D2 byes can be filled by those respective clubs by anyone, any players, from anywhere as long as they are 96 girls. Do you think there might be a Plano or Arlington team out there who might consider "switching clubs" to get a D2 bye without any QT hassle or ever playing in LHGCL? This is NOT the 75% rule, this is simply allowing the club to fill the bye as they see fit.

Those clubs could also "vacate" those D2 byes, allowing LHGCL to fill supposedly by moving more D3 teams up, until they have no more returning D3 teams available, then by QT.

So for 96 QT for 2011, we're looking at:
5 spots from ECNL
2 spots from increasing D2/D3 to 10 teams
2? spots from vacated byes (D2 Longhorns, D2 Solar White)
= at least 9? spots to be filled by QT this year

Hope they get that many interested teams.
Anyone heard of any other 96 teams that may vacate their bye this year?
