Tough call as I am not familiar with most of these teams.
I will go with the Liverpool '04 team or Lady Aztecs.

I have not seen Dalglish 03, but the 04 team is good. I have seen Texans and FWFC battle in the Hurst tourney in the Finals. I would say 04 Dalglish will be their, as for their opponent a toss up between FWFC, Texans, Aztecs. Like I said have not seen the rest of the teams.

If you have close to 30 girls then odds are you can put together 10 decent ones. Therefore I think Parker will surprise some folks.
Meanwhile Dalglish 04 has shown that they can compete with top 15 03s.

Seeing as only the bracket winner advances they'd both do well to make the final!outonthelimb wrote:My money is on the coach with 3 '03 teams (Sting ' 03 Parker)... and the proven `04 entity (Dalglish `04).

In fact I'd put my mortgage on it that they BOTH wont make the final One might not BOTH

Re: xara winter cup
Even if the tournament committe would have wanted to I would have voted against it. The reason (for me) is SAFETY. As this is the 03's I will use them as the model, they are 8/9yo's, bodies, muscles not developed and yet we are asking them to play 5 games in 2 days (Lady Aztecs 6 games in 2 days as they play an indoor game at 1:30pm) 6 GAMES in 2 DAYS! You hear the pro's, who train every day complain about 2 games in 48 hours because they dont get a chance to recover but now we want our youth to play 5 games in 2 days and of course those are the teams that are successful. I understand your comment about playing other opposition and then a true champion emerges, I get it but arent we as adults supposed to be looking after the children? What are we doing to our players chances of getting injuries in the future?
For this reason we wanted to play games on Thursday night, I forgot to ask the TD how many took up that offer because there are no Thursday night games. I would have loved to play Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday but that still has issues when you look at it, 4 games in 4 days but it looks a whole lot better than 5 games in 2 days. Everyone will have an opinion I'm sure and thats whats great about soccer but from my point of view its about the players welfare

It usually helps if one looks at the brackets before making predictions eh?Triumph FC wrote:Seeing as only the bracket winner advances they'd both do well to make the final!outonthelimb wrote:My money is on the coach with 3 '03 teams (Sting ' 03 Parker)... and the proven `04 entity (Dalglish `04).

Let's see if I can fix this stinker that I made...the Championship Match will be played at 11am on Saturday on Five Star field #4 (Sting '03 Parker vs LP Dalglish '04). All other games during this gathering of 8&9 year old girls are considered friendlies. The finals (as it is incorrectly noted on the Xara Cup schedule for the u9 division) is actually an intra club friendly pitting LP Dalglish '04 vs Liverpool Dalglish '03. No score will be kept as the LP Academy Director will intermingle girls from both teams to create a true friendly atmosphere.

Ok so are you basing this on some pediatrician study that 4 games in two days is ok but 5 is not?
When my kids were U6 they played in semis nearly every tournament. Granted this was few years ago but none of the kids ever had any trouble and they loved it. It's not like they are running on huge fields playing 40 minute halves. Granted I wouldn’t want my kid doing this every week, but then no team plays tournaments every week.

From my understanding, that's not how he operates. They are building a new division inside the club so there's still some sorting out to do. This group is essentially new and has yet to establish an identity. I hope they do well but please don't put the cart before the horse. Give him til the fall to get them ready.
Liverpool '04 should come out of that bracket rather unscathed IMO
As for bracket A....I couldn't say. Depends on if Liverpool pools it's 03s to have a top tourney team.

Is the Liverpool 03 team a new team? DOes that leave the door open for FWFC, DT Hernandez, or Triumph?

Re: xara winter cup
I believe the 03 Daglish team is kind of new. I know someone was on here a few weeks ago talking about them looking for a couple of new players to finish off the team or something like that. No idea how good they are though. I think that bracket they are in is completely wide open.
