Coach Luis Moreno Joins Texas Longhorns Soccer Club to Build Girls Academy

Texas Longhorns SC is getting back in the game...they have just hired Luis Moreno, former SideKicks player to develop the Girls side of the club...starting with Recreational and Academy. Not to sabotage the news, but honestly - why would anything change at Longhorns? This was perhaps the largest soccer club in North Texas in the 70's and early 80's but has run downhill ever since... with the same "leadership" doing nothing to alter the course for as long as I can remember. According to the website, they have 3 select boys' teams (since the 94's have graduated) and 1 select girls team. But here's the kicker; in addition to the unmovable "executive director", there are 4 other boardmembers. That's more people pulling the strings than actual number of select teams. Very odd.

Best of luck to Luis. I don't see how he can accomplish anything when his boss has such a track record and complete lack of vision.
