Texans Fall Festival

I was looking at schedules and this being a Texans tournament, The director sure does not know how to do schedules. Was looking at the 00 black bracket and they put 3 Dallas Texans team on the same bracket. Wouldn't they want 1 Texans in each bracket. If thats the case lets just get another Texans team and play some friendlies and save all those parents some time and money. Glad my DD team isn't playing in this tournament.

So let me get this straight -- you're complaining about the lack of home-cookin' in the schedule that would give Texans teams opp for advancement via unearned seeding placement?

TD has been around the block for years -- clearly this was deliberate, though I'm not sure why. Anyone have any insight and/or theories?

Except for the fact that you dont see 3 teams from the same club in the same bracket very often it looks like the TD did a good job on seeding. Who cares if there are 3 sister teams in the same bracket I dont see a lot wrong here.

I did notice and think it odd. Maybe they want to "ensure" a DT team in the 2nd rd...Or it could be just an odd seeding glitch that puts a D2, a D3 and a top PPL team in one bracket (just like bracket B)...The SA team in the DT bracket plays a 9 pm game after the 5 hour drive...ouch.

Bold prediction...I think DT will get one through...lol

Maybe. I was thinking that it might have something to do w/ECNL -- having the club's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th teams in one bracket might provide easy viewing opp for club higher ups to scout for homegrown talent for ECNL team.

I agree. Nearly impossible "oversight" in a 12 team division with only 3 teams bearing that moniker...made me laugh though, and it CAN be justified. I like the brackets though. They seem pretty balanced through the teams I know...

Well so much for my theory. Big changes in the white division, and now each bracket includes a local Texan team.

Is it me, or did the revised schedule result in a super TOUGH Bracket C in the Black division --(Texans Red, Solar Gold, and Mustangs Spence + FCD 01 Premiere as the 4th seed?? YIKES!), complete with 9 pm Friday night games followed by 8 am Saturday morning games for Solar Gold and Mustangs Spence? To wit:

Ouch. Looks like 4 pretty evenly matched teams to me. Any thoughts on who takes Bracket C?

Very competitive c division-- dont know anything about those OK teams, tho.

Yikes, I HATE the play the "After full day of school--9pm gm, get to bed after midnight and get up 5:30am to play ay 8am!" schedule. It's a shame really, no way those girls arent trashed after that 8am game. The teams that played the friday 6pm gm have a big advantage at the Sat 3pm gm. The 9pm-8am teams will have dead legs if they dont carb up and nap before the 3pm, especially if the weather is cold.

The schedule favors the Texan teams and the 01 FC team. FC is skilled, very fast in both players and ball movement. Tex-red isn't the same D-2 team it was last year and is having a tuff go of it this year. DTN's goalie is injured. Solar has a good chance if they can recover for the 8am w/ FC.

The brackets seem odd. Why are there NO out of town teams in C? All of C's teams can play each other any weekend with a phone call. I don't know what to think other than it is going to be a quick turn around (9p then 8a). I was looking forward to this...on Tuesday...

Good and efficiently ran tournament. From my standpoint, there was good and even competition. Congrats to the winners in our age group. Shout out to Fever United 00G for representing PPL in the semi finals in the Black division!
