Freedom Cup

Just looking at the 28 teams in the 01 age group and thinking about seeding and brackets for the tournament. Assuming a 12 team Gold division, using current LH standings and based on prior NTX tournament results for the OK teams, I came up with the following brackets:

Dallas Texans 01G Red North
South Lakes Soccer Club Cosmos 01 Blue
Sting East 01G (Gray) (prev FC Dallas East 01G)
Kicks SC Kicks Blue SC 01

TUSC Blitz-Thunder United 01 Girls Navy
Liverpool FC America 01 Girls Rush
Sting East 01G (Gutierrez)
Cosmos 01G Black

Solar Chelsea White 01
Texas Spirit North 01'
Texas Lightning 01GBlk(Prev Sting 01 Sam)
West Side Alliance 01 Girls White

I think your giving the OK teams a little too much credit. Not sure Blitz Navy deserves a 2 seed, a 2-0 over D2 FCD 01 and a tie with Gutierrez isn't enough to convince me they are better than Solar White or TSN. And SLSC Blue probably isnt a 6 seed, they got pounded by DTRN, Solar Monte and even TSN. I think You guys, Guiterz and Gray should be seeded above SLSC.

Does anyone know anything about Montemayor? I can't find much info on him on the solar website...he's an option for 03...

You may be right on Blitz Navy. They are hard to slot in. They had close games with TFC and Monty, but the win against FCD and tie against Sting G weren't that impressive. I do like having the OK teams in separate brackets, however.

He is a good coach. My DD almost went select with him, but the practices were just too far away for us.

Sweeper what are your predictions for the SEMIS and FINALS?

I am not exactly unbiased in my views since my DD is playing, so I won't make any predictions.

I will say, however, that there are a lot of evenly matched teams in this one with 5 of the 10 D2 teams playing, one of the bottom D1 teams and the top D3 team. Plus, some teams from OK that would seem to fall into that mix of teams AND Kicks seems to win everything they enter recently, so it should be a hard fought tournament. Now let's hope for good weather.

I believe Texas Lightning Black has lost their goalie to a broken ankle. (Not sure of when and how on the injury) She is a shut down type player, hope she has a speedy and full recovery.

I am not sure but would guess it had to have been in the last week or so. She played in the Winter Classic two weeks ago and was fine.

not hating just informing. I find it interesting. Any analysis on your weekend? Your goalie is good, but you also have a few other players that make you guys a strong team. Im just surprised of the outcome of the games...but im not hating.

Congratulations to all 3 teams.

Blitz had a great time down in Texas. All teams were friendly and well coached. Had a rough semi game (double PK's). Texans played well. You gave us 3 chances to win and we blew it. Lost probably our best forward in the first game to a bad ankle sprain. We'll be back.
