Looking for general info. What is the going rate for private skills sessions these days? Individual or small group?

Thanks

Got a quote yesterday for $75/hour. That's the highest private rate I've heard of in the DFW area.

That's why I'm asking. A guy at one of the indoor places quoted me $80/hr last week. I thought I heard wrong.

I bet it's the same guy. This one runs an indoor place too. My mouth is still hanging open in shock. We had been paying $50/hour for privates and less for small groups from a different individual. If that sounds more in line with what you were thinking PM me and I can give more info. There are also several ads and offers in different threads on this forum that might be worth checking out.

i've come across several different trainers over the last couple of years. Usually we do them with 2-4 different people. We all pay around 20 dollars each. I have paid 40 dollars for 1 hr of private and have heard 80 dollars for 1 trainer...but its still 80 dollars in group setting. I like the group setting, girls seem to be more competitive with each other and the coach can work on small sided stuff.

The higher cost is because they might have to pay for the indoor facility.

Going rate is $10-$20 per hour hour and a half for small group.

Privates: depends on age group. 1 hour lesson
Youngers should be $25-45
Olders: $45-$65

I charge $25 an hour for my private goalkeeping lessons, i could go up however I feel with the cost of select soccer and other expenses travel, touranments etc that I want to help those out who cant pay $40-75 an hour for keeper training or just provide an option for those that want it that does not cost too much. I do just find doing things this way at least so far. I also lower cost per goalkeeper depending on how many attend a particular session. There are some areas I provide training in especially if its a longer drive where I have to have so many kids training whether in a group or in several private 1 hour slots. My sessions are generally 1 hour long unless group size gets too big, then sometimes I will adjust time accordingly. I want all goalkeepers to get maximum amount of reps each training session.

When I was playing most of my private lessons were $65 an hour, and $10-30 depending on how big the group was.

I recently watched an coach (mostly Acedmey) host a privat 1-1 lession which looked great with a u14 girl. She pays $60/hr (which seemed like 50min to me). Any how when I said I have several girls he siad her rate was 2x40, 3x30... etc.

I think that is CRAP! Why should a coach make so much more for the same period of time? Hopfullyu I can find a good one for our group even if it is a bit more than $60/hr (60Min please!)

We've done private/semi-private with two different trainers and both were in the $60/hour range.

LOL for what age group? and then you are paying too much for Private sessions.
If the coach or Trainer has to pay for indoor rental fee or has a cost then yes $60 would be feasible...but if you are outside in a space of grass or a field and 1 on 1 skills basically is all he/she can teach, than you are paying way too much.
It is much better to get a few in the lesson say 4 players and pay $10-$20 each should cover the time, the tolls, the lesson, the gas.

Agree with jabberjaw.

$20-$35 dollars an hour seems to a fair rate.

We're paying $10/hr. on a group discount rate for my 00DD. This was arranged in conjunction with, and to supplement, the training she receives through her club. It is serious, not mickey mouse. After the first 5/6 lessons the difference is noticeable in both ball skills and confidence, so I would endorse. Not sure if it okay to post his contact information at the risk of turning this thread into a promotional thread, but I'll gladly provide the information if requested.

I guess each parent has to weigh the cost/benefit of extra skills work. In many parts of the world clubs consider the 'skills' part of training their main mission. They are judged on how many players they groom to move up to the next level, and skills are the focus, not the U8 team win/loss record. Many clubs here focus on wins and end up having to recruit those kids who did all the extra work rather than developing their academy kids for their upper age teams. In a perfect world your club would only do skills in practice until U11, and extra skills would be uneccessary.
