Who is moving UP/DOWN with 9 games to go? Empty Re: Who is moving UP/DOWN with 9 games to go?

After careful study of the current 01 LHGCL standing in all three divisions, I am almost certain, ALMOST, that there are no teams that will be moving UP/DOWN with 9 games to go. Any other opinions out there?

D1: Feet gets relegated and they buy another '01 team for future ECNL participation.
Texans Hollis gets relegated.
D2: Kicks Gold (like their play better than Kicks SC) gets promoted.
FCD and Sting East (Audrey) get relegated.
D3: Texans, Kicks, AFC, Redstar and Cosmos move out.

Who is moving UP/DOWN with 9 games to go? Empty Defeeters?

Post by Big Poppy 26/02/13, 02:38 pm

I wouldn't count the Defeeters out this early. We played them on Saturday and for about 25 minutes they played some of the prettiest, cleanest soccer I've seen in a while. Came very close to scoring twice and controlled the ball very well. This team is tough, has good ball control, a desire to win and a no quit attitude. I really enjoyed watching them play. JMO

They've given up quite a bit more goals than anyone in D1 so currently they lose the tiebreaker. Things could change but the post asked to predict the future. If not Feet, then who?

Then who? Andro, Solar Monte, Hollis, Feet, that's where the relegation happens but really don't see it coming down to goal differential. Personally, a 1-0 loss is no different than a 3-0 loss and it looks to me like D'Feeters don't pack the box like some. I agree with Poppy, very good soccer with this team of late, not so much in the fall which is why they are starting the spring behind the 8-ball. Kudos for teaching the kids to play versus when at all cost however. And let's face it, you can park a bus in there against Grubbs and Bates and you will still lose. It all comes down to which of these teams can squeak out a tie or win against upper teams and then a mandatory win agsint one another.

Well said. I would really like to see the DeFeeters around next year.

It's nice that some are noticing the transformation of the Feet team. We hope the girls can hang on and have a succesful Spring and keep growing as a team. On another note, I know I've been critical of Jason Bates in the past for some of his sideline rants but it was pretty classy of him to come over to the Feet postgame huddle and tell the girls how well they played, (even in an 0-3 loss)...
