Many parents are talking about looking and others have said they are gone. Is it better to call a meeting and see who is in and who is out now or wait till june

Meetings are useless, no one can be counted on to tell the truth. Get a back up plan in place asap....

Start looking for teams nearby that play your style at your level...watch a few of their games and start making contact with friends about coaches and situations. Tournaments and tryouts are just around the corner. Even the most solid teams will have a few spots for the right fit.

Unfortunately, parents intentions will change as the team's and their own circumstances change. Be wary of the parents that publically grumble -declaring their intentions- the loudest; most likely, they are not apart of your solution. Try to supportive/positive of the girls, team and coach, and keep your own counsel.

First, educate yourself on how and how not to contact a coach or team. 2nd, No need to bad mouth, criticize your current coach or team-- if your team is not doing well--they will know... Then..

Go shopping for a coach and team you like! Teams still have 5, 6 games left & this an ideal time to showcase your dd, especially if she is a starter or gets significant playing time on her current team. Let coaches you are going to play, know who your dd is-- they will watch. Don't assume that since a team do doing well, it might not be interested in your dd. The best teams/coaches:

-- Want new players coming out to challenge their current ones; prevents complacency.
-- Don't care where your dd came from, but if they are a hard worker, physical, has soccer speed, coachable and capable of improving.
--The great coaches love finding "diamonds in the rough"- the players they can develop.

If a coach can't give feedback-good or nay, or doesn't invite you to train, move on to the next one. He clearly doesn't know talent when he sees it!

Couldn't agree more. My DD's coach/situation is a testimony to that.

DON'T TRUST ANYBODY ON THE TEAM IN THIS SITUATION!!! That includes the coach and manager that knows their team is crumbling around them.

Some parents will swear their loyalty one week BUT the next week you will see them walking up to practice with a guest player release in their hand.

There'll be other parents that rumble and groan loudly. They'll make it clear that they're definitely going no matter what. They'll bash the coach, the club, the roster, the other parents, and whatever else... And then, somehow mystically, the team will win 2 or 3 games in a row to finish the season. Or the team has a great tournament. (Or they realize their new club is going to cost $800 more than they expected and their DD is going to be coming off the bench.) And suddenly those exact same grumblers that were trying to start an uprising will completely forget everything they'd said 2 weeks earlier. Suddenly they'll be looking forward to signing the renewed contract.

Judge people by their actions only, words are meaningless in these situations. Don't worry about anybody but your DD.

And trying to convince everyone else to stay too! LOL

Find a place you are happy and have a back up plan (or two).

I gree with the Posts above. Dont Trust Anyone. Evem the ones you think you are close to will turn on a dime.
Do your homework on coaches and teams. Watch the team and coach in a real game or multiple games.
I wont put my DD on another team without watching the coach!
