TGPL Referees

Is it just me or has the quality of officiating in TGPL taken a sharp decline this Spring?
The referees are seniors that I assume have been relegated from LHGCL action....and worse yet TGPL has become a training ground for the young ARs.
Yes, play is actually delayed to give instruction to the ARs.
Before everyone tells me that the pay is crap and there's a shortage of good officials....
I get that. But it wasn't like this in the Fall.

You know what is amazing? There is a small number of people who are willing to go to work and KNOW they are going to get yelled at. I know how serious this is, every kids future is going to be affected by a bad call here and there. Here is an idea for you. Put down your peanuts, get out of your chair and take a class. Then you can buy a whistle and join us. We take polls too, parental behavior has tanked. So be grateful you even have refs so your precious DD's can play a GAME they like... for now. It is amazing how many kids run down the field complaining about how embarrassed they are of the way their parents act. Only the truth.

Since FIFA won't send their top refs over here to officiate matches I'd say we get along ok. We have to remember that it's still a bunch of kids playing and a missed offsides call isn't going to be ending anyone's chances of glory.

That being said I wish the refs in all leagues would crack down on some if the physical play. There are teams out there that must have a practice a month on elbows and pulling. We all want the girls to hone their skills and the constant pulling and shoving is hurting. Yea I know it's a physical game but come on a 20 yard run and push with NO attempt at the ball is not physical play. It's illegal.

I vote for Mr. Solar to get his ref license! I can already see the new screen name: SolarRef00 and new avatar pic could be one of him in action!
