FBR slightly better at predicting D1 this year...

LH Seeding slightly better at predicting total qualifiers this year...

(Note:  If you exclude Sting Sanchez due to their DQ - #22 in both FBR and LH Seeding - and extend out to #31, FBR is also 24/30 (80%) on total qualifiers as Sting North Larry was #31 in final pre-QT FBR)

Cumulative over past 3 years is still a virtual wash across the board.

DI
SRSA - No one was surprised at how they dominated
DTS - Lots of close games in what turned out to be a challenging bracket.
FCD gold - Went just as most would figured
LP elite - Took care of business as expected
FCD prem - Had a close call, but got the job done in the end
Sting G - Cruised through what was probably the easiest bracket
Defeeters - Came down to the wire, and made it by a single goal
LP Barnes - Came to play and stepped up to be the biggest "upset" qualifier of wk1
LP rush - Just squeezed by Sting Goodman to win their bracket
Sting Hilton - Minimal competition in their bracket, so not a big suprise they got it done wk1
LP Keegan - Very little scoring, but enough to not worry about things wk2
DT Moreno - Good showing vs. a relatively easy bracket
Feṿer Black - Should have gone in as the higher ranked team in their bracket, only "indy" to qualify wk1. 
Andromeda FC - 1-0, 1-0, 1-0 against some pretty salty competition in wk2
FCD Red - Again close games, and just beat out Triumph to qualify
FCD Suarez - They scored more than RUSH to send them to D3 to wk2
FWFC Black - Lots of scoring vs. the lower seeds wk2, and won as needed vs Skaife
Cosmos - Close call vs. Goodman could have went either way
Sting West - Choked wk one, but turned around and recovered in wk2
Warriors - Took the "easy" bracket by dribble wk2, going to be a long year

DIII
Ayses Gold - Landed about where most figured
Triumph Aguero - Could have ended up in D1, but will play the competition they are used to in D3
Dallas Rush - Disappointment to some, but finished about where projected
Sting Skaife - Ditto
Sting Goodman - Someone had to lose bracket E, keepers & defenders on D1 teams rejoice!
FCD Youth Blue - Minimal scoring, but still enough pts wk2  
Odyssey - Didn't impress much wk2 in a weak bracket
Solar Chelsea Armstrong (12 PTs) - Luckily ended up in the "easy" bracket wk2 where points (not scores) were easy to come by
Sting North Larry (10pts) - Good showing in challenging wk 2 bracket
Mutiny (9pts) - Went in at seed 13 (FBR 12), and barely squeaked in to the last spot in D3, biggest disappointment of the tournament.

Once again showing after the top 4, the rest can go either way on any given weekend. Lots of close games between all these teams.

i would say they laid an egg. beat a team that fell to plano premier, barely beat another team that fell to plano premier and barely beat a team that qualified to d1. hardly the stuff of number 2 teams...

True but the same could be said about a lot of the so called top 10 teams this past weekend.

Well the top 4 have consistently managed to put up at least 1 point more than their opponents. That is why they are top 4. That's impressive considering we are talking about 10 year olds.

I was one that thought DTS should have cruised through the bracket, however I did say that FCD Suarez was not to be overlooked because they can play with anyone. So the fact that game was close didn't shock me, however the other scores did. Personally after hearing from some of the different teams that qualified for week one I'd be willing to bet that only two or three other teams would have made it out of Pool B that first weekend. I think way too many people overlooked FCD Suarez and the fact they were seeded 25th is still a shocker to me. I've seen enough from DTS to not worry too much about them based upon one weekends results. I still predict they will end up in the Top 3 in the league.

With that being said, the reason why the Top 4 are considered the Top 4 is that most of the time if they have an off game they are still able to pull out the victory, however once you get down to teams 6 through 20 the difference is the consistency factor. I have Sting G as my #5 and they are pretty much the same as the other Top 4 but there are times where they will tie a team they should beat or even lose unexpectedly. With that being said they can easily beat #2 through #4 any given day and it's no shocker.

They are all 10 year olds so knowing what you are going to get one week to the next is a crap shoot, over the next year if some of these other teams can gain some consistency then I can easily see them finishing in the Top 5 over the teams that are considered the Top 5 right now.

Not sure how close some of the games were other than the score. Sometimes the score should have been 5 - 0 but you get 15 shots and only 1 goes in. The difference between the top teams and the others is they get a lot more opportunities to score.

You are correct offsides. I hear all the time about how close games were because team X had three shots that just didn't go in and if they would have gone in then it would have been a victory for them instead of a 2-0 loss. However if you watched the game you would have noticed that the team that won 2-0 held possesion of the ball 90% of the time, had about 10 good scoring chances while the team that lost had three scoring chances and probably only one of them was really any good.

These games can change because of one crazy bounce but over the course of a season the better teams will win more times than not the close games because they put themselves in better positions to win game after game. Sometimes a 1-0 win doesn't give a clear indication of who was the better team, sometimes its simply a game where a ball gets cleared long and someone out runs the defense. Hardly a winning recipe game after game but it does work every once in a while. There are a quite a few DI teams that play that exact way and are always shocked when they lose to someone they don't think they should.

sorry, i disagree. they may 1 out of 4-5 times beat them, but its not any given weekend.....

and once again, a #2 shouldn't have any trouble with a 25 seed, sorry, this was not a dominant performance by a #2 team....but now we will see in lh if that was hint of things to come or just a one off to be ignored...

Out of all the top teams we have faced excluding SRSA...The Texans in my opinion are by for the best team "WE" haved faced...With LP Barnes being the second best. The way the Texans attack you and the constant pressure that they put on your defense is amazing. They may not score a lot but they avg a ton of shots per game...plus you arent going to get many shots on them as well.

I just don't think Sting G has dropped all that much and they've proven they can beat teams 2 through 4, maybe they wouldn't be the favorite but them beating any of those teams isn't a big shocker and them losing to any of the teams not ranked ahead of them would still be classified as unexpected, however them being tied by someone lower ranked wouldn't shock me.

I'd agree with you lochwood, based upon who you've played I'd say DTS, LP Barnes are some of the better teams you've played. Now I'm sure LP Elite and Sting G might have something to say but you've already tied Sting G so not like they really would have much to say but I'm sure LP Elite might be a little hurt you didn't think much of them but considering we never hear much from them on this board I don't think it will matter

Glad your team qualified though, clearly got jobbed by the seeding folks but you all won out after all. Congrats to your girls.

Seven of these teams qualified for D1, the 8th team ended up in D3...

Before you go and look it up yourself, try and take a guess at which team didn't qualify for D1...

Unfortunately, it is B. Only team without a loss that didnt get in I think.

Well I know who G is (at least I think I do and if I'm correct they qualified for DI). However I'm drawing a blank on which team didn't advance based upon the chart, at least not without looking it up.

If I were to guess I'm going to say that it's one of the teams that scored 40+ points and won four games. The most obvious one is Sting Goodman, I don't think they lost either weekend but I don't know what their point totals were.
