A TIE....get's you noticed.
A LOSS....get's you nothing. Never has....never will. If you have too may loses....then you are apparently on a losing team.
Enough said!

I agree, I've seen FEET play and while they have improved, thier not a top 3 team. Even heard the coach say that directly to new parents saying do not expect to beat the top 3.... so that put Andro in a position to have to prove themselves....if they loose... they will be digging out of a hole for a long time this year.SoccerFanaddict wrote:Not trying to offend. Just think that Andro have more to prove in LHGCL since the 3-0 loss to Feet. Many believe Feet are a bottom ranked D1 team, so a 3-0 loss to them puts Andro right there. So I don't think it's a mystery as to why we're seeing the voting results coming in the way they are. Do you disagree with that assessment?SoccerNUT wrote:Are you kidding? Looks like a lot of voters have something against Andro. They've proven that they are capable of winning a beating good teams, so why is there so little respect for them. I am an Andro parent and I could be wrong but, it seems like SoccerNUT is doing a hatchet job on our team. I don't understand your true agenda but I'm guessing its not to lift up Andro.SoccerNUT wrote:Agree to DisagreeHook It wrote:I agree, I've seen FEET play and while they have improved, thier not a top 3 team. Feet kicked our butt up and down the field Saturday and should be commended on a great game. Our girls did not show up and look lifeless. But all the credit in the world should be given to feet's girls and coach. Look forward to our next meeting.

Yes...I am not an Andro parent, so please don't think that. I just have watched them a lot over the last few months and know how hard they're working. Amazon, I never said Andro was better than Feet, all I said was Feet was still working on Chemistry and Andro was ready to win now. I also pointed out that Andro was getting no respect in terms of a team that knows how to win. I don't know how you translate that into a "HATCHET JOB?" If you as an Andro parent don't believe that YOUR team knows how to win then I don't know what to tell you. I just know that the girls have gotten much better since the Houston tournament along with adding some top end talent. So the "HATCHET JOB" you are referring to, were compliments.

No none at Feet has claimed to be a top 3 team. And I find it very hard to believe you overheard Coach David say that. Might have made an off handed comment like, "if they play like that they won't beat X" but no coach will set their parents or kids expectations that low.Hook It wrote:I agree, I've seen FEET play and while they have improved, thier not a top 3 team. Top three are pretty darn good. Losing to them isn't a low expectation in my book. More of a given in most cases. I have always appreciated coaches that tell it like it is. I was surprised by my dds coach's expectations last year. I thought his assessment was a little low; he was dead on with where we ended up. We parents tend to overinflate our expectations...no surprise there.

During tryouts... clearly said do not expect FEET to beat X, Y, Z..... no big deal. I think it set realistic expectations. I would love to have my DD coached by David. I don't disagree. The ball control in this game was about 50/50. Defeeters mid-field played was very good and they executed 5-7 touch passes that almost ended on scores. Defeeters coach never took his foot off the gas and went very aggressive in the 2nd half leaving openings for fast breaks that resulted in corners or scores.1more_dd_dad wrote:Felt like a good game the first 45 minutes...Big Poppy wrote:Solar 3-0 over DeFeeters
Solar did finish well on most attacks....something we have been lacking the first two games.
All in all....good game with a lot of mid-field play.

Agree. Got to see a good chunk of the game. Both teams played well. Although, score should have been 2-0. One bad call on referee's part in 2nd half that sent Solar forward alone against Feet keeper. Never should have happened. Solar girls deserved the win... no question. They finished on goal... Feet could not. Great possession soccer and I for one like to watch that regardless of the team.Big Poppy wrote:I don't disagree. The ball control in this game was about 50/50. Re: 01 LH D1 Sept 11, 2013
I saw first half of this game. I was very impressed with Feets control of game. From what i saw, they had possession 70% of time in 1st half. Solar scored at 34 minute mark that really seem to change the momentum. 2nd half of game must of been different, but from what i saw, the Feet are a pretty competitive team and if you don't bring your "A" game, they can sneak up on you. I saw them play Andromedia a few weeks back and they controlled majority of that game from the time i was watching. They are a very good possession team.SoccerFanaddict wrote:Agree. Re: 01 LH D1 Sept 11, 2013
But to me, feet playing bates even (or better) on possession is huge. I'd much rather lose and the girls play soccer that teaches them the game vs win with route 1 dump and chase where the midfielders look like they're watching a tennis match.
Which brings me to feet. I complimented Pfeil last year after our fall game. They scored first and despite being up he kept attacking and pressing. It was clear he was NOT playing for points. The aggressive posture ending up allowing our girls to come back and win it in the last 5 minutes, but there was no doubt which team played the better soccer that day.
Now within that compliment I said, "doing a great job with the talent he has"....or something similar. Implying feet weren't stacked with studs, but were playing good soccer. 1more jumped me about it, feeling I'd slighted feet players. But at year's end feet went and made major roster changes. Hmmm...maybe pfeil felt he needed more talent after all?
Which brings me to this year and them playing the defending champions even on possession. Massive IMO!
There are less than a full handful of possession teams anywhere in LH. 1 in D3 (Angel), 0 in D2, 1 in D1 (SR...Grubb used to be borderline, but now that they have more speed up they've morphed to more jungle ball).
Not talking about teams that can play good soccer when facing an inferior opponent. All of the top D1 teams will look like Barca if you put them up against a D3 or lower level opponent. It's playing other top competition that shows you a teams true capabilities.
Feet showed flashes of turning the corner into a true possession side last year. If now they've truly done it, they're one of a VERY select few, and for pfeil to do it in under 2 years with a transient roster yr over yr says alot about his coaching ability.
Let me temper this with...I haven't personally seen feet play this year. Like my fellow soccer dad buddies like to say, "I need to see it to believe it."

Okay, let me bite. When has Grubb ever been a kick ball team, they play possession? Grubb has always had speed up top, one that moved on and another that is still there is faster then the new one picked up. Not saying that the new one isn't fast bc she IS FAST. Yes, Grubb has speed, pretty strong all the way around, but they are a possession team. Sounds like you're a hater or you haven't seen Grubb play. Yet that is your opinion and you have a right to it, well this is mine.
