'04 Girls FBR Rankings - 9-10-13 Empty '04 Girls FBR Rankings - 9-10-13

Post by Guest 11/09/13, 12:34 am

Current Rankings are inclusive of Spring/Summer Tournament Results and Fall League Results from 5/10/13 through Present Date.  All Spring League results have been removed from the history.

A few notes:

1)  Liverpool '04 RASE is the de-facto #1 '04 girls team in NTX (unbeaten against any '04 NTX girls team for >1 year).  They are not included in the FBR at this time due to a lack of games played against '04 girls opponents in the past 16 weeks

2) The teams currently listed in the FBR rankings have been confirmed as registered to play in an '04 division of a girls NTX academy league for Fall 2013, AND, have a minimum of 3 games played against other '04 opponents in the past 16 weeks.

3)  Before you string me up over the "illogical" movement of some of the top 15 teams based on results from last weekend, please keep the following in mind...  Tournament games from the weekend of 5/4-5/5 were deleted from the history this week, along with adding last weekend's results.  For teams that played a tournament on the weekend of 5/4-5/5, 3-5 games were dropped from their history, while only 1 or 2 new games were added.  The net strength of the deleted games vs. the newly added games is driving the week-week ranking change, not just the strength of the past weekend's results.

In general, I would expect FBR to be a bit "noisy" over the next 3-4 weeks as a large amount of tournament data from May/early June will be deleted, while only 1-2 league games per week are added.  I would expect the rankings to stabilize as we get into the month of October

Lack of games played up to date vs. 04G.. As you can see, only 4..

SoS took a BIG hit with 5/4-5/5 tourney games dropping from their history.

Dropped games against LFS Black and DT South, replaced them with games against Odyssey and FCD Predator.

Opponents in their current history are:

Sting Blue (#9)
LFS White (#23)
Odyssey (#25)
FCD Predator (#33)

I would expect this to moderate over the upcoming weeks as May tournament results drop from other teams' histories and more fall league results come in to play.

Dalglish has league games against DT South, LP Barnes, Lady Aztecs, FCD Premier (2x) coming up this fall. Overall, playing TGPL + PTCL should give them a comparable SoS to SDL D1 teams (SDL Platinum teams will likely have higher SoS by the end of the fall league season). If Dalglish takes care of business consistent with their performance over the past year or so, they will work their way back up close to the top by the end fall league play.

bwgophers......

How do the Leagues that dont keep scores (such as UAL) figure in the FBR? Should they even be included in the FBR?

Dalglish has been ranked around the top three for the past couple of years and I don't see that changing given the quality they have picked up this summer.
I guess playing against 03 girls and 04 boys regularly doesn't help them with the rankings calculations.

If scores are reported on the forum (as they are with SDL games) they I will include them, even if they are not posted on a league/gotsoccer website.

If I don't get the scores, the games won't get counted.

I think the rankings are for entertainment value but it's still a tough pill to swallow when you drop and you don't know for what reason or you don't understand the reason

Yeah, I noticed a few teams on the list that are played in that league and know that that league doesn't keep score....

I wouldn't worry about it too much.  I remeber RASE took a nasty plummet in the FBR once and wasn't long before they were right back up.  I expect the same will happen with Dalglish.  Besides I heard 5 places in the drop were for the games dropping off and 2 places were for those new Warrior uniforms pale

At least they could play with matching uniforms...and...gasp...maybe even a complete set. Not all teams down the food chain have been so lucky.

Playing up in age or playing boys is only useful when the competition is better and when the team can't find competitive teams in their own age group. With RASE that argument can be made since they are beating all 04G teams a bunch to nothing. Dalglish can't make the same claim and competition at their level can be found in the NTX 04G leagues and tournaments. So why are they playing out of their league?

Its a pet peeve of mine. So when I can, I try to get the information out to others who have been told or believe that the only way to improve soccer skills is to play superior opponents when it just isn't true.

I'm always willing to learn though, so instead of a snarky comment, I was actually looking for an explanation of the strategy behind the decision.

AND to turn the question around, why do you care if I care?Shocked

Duh! Boys are quicker than girls so perhaps it's to increase the speed of their play?

If a team were losing or tied, wouldn't they increase their speed of play in order to win, if they could

why do you care that he cares that you care scratch Anyway Dalglish is playing girls now so it doesn't really matter.

I would like to add that incase there is a warriors rep reading on this message board, the RASE team is not playing in adidas.  And the new LP academy uniforms don't look like arsenal at all,
