Holiday Camp December 27!

Liverpool is excited to announce an innovative and intensive one-day only Reds Academy School of Excellence (RASE) post Soccer Speed & Agility Camp which is to be held at Blue Sky The Colony on Friday December 27 for boys and girls U7-U10. The camp will run from 9am through 4pm with a one hour break for lunch (provided by the club). Training will consist of station work with and without a ball.

The footwork component of the camp will focus almost exclusively on intensive technical development with a ball. Areas of special attention will include improvement in bipedal ability (the comfortable use of both feet), the ability to use various surfaces of the feet (players who do so can play more deceptively, with fewer touches, and pose more of a scoring threat); and overall deception (dribbling moves to beat players, feints when receiving the ball, and fakes when delivering passes). At higher levels these skills are not just desirable but necessary as they allow players the ability to play out of tight spaces or create space where there is none.

The agility component of the camp has been designed to not only develop exceptional speed and quickness levels, but to improve acceleration, balance, cutting, starting/stopping, overall reaction, and the capacity to switch gears and change direction.

It has become clear that the top players in soccer are proficient not only in ball skills and game strategy, but are also fast, quick, and strong enough to be the difference-makers on the pitch. This camp is a marvellous opportunity for young academy players to take their first steps in developing all the dimensions required to be that one rare and remarkable player.

The entire day's curriculum and subsequent activities have been designed by RASE Program Director, Lee Weddall and Ricky Blanchard.

Coach Ricky is a former St. Lucia national team player and professional with Long Island Rough Riders (USISL A-League) and Connecticut Wolves (USL A-League). He is a NESTA Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) who has written articles for Men's Health, Men's Fitness, and Female First. His clients have included Henry Cavill, Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz (Immortals), Gerard Butler, Jamie Foxx (Law Abiding Citizen), Woody Harelson, Christian Bale (Out of The Furnace), Lilly Collins, Armie Hammer (Mirror, Mirror), Bradley Cooper (Limitless), Tobey Maguire (Spiderman), and Ezra Butler (New Orleans Saints/NFL).

This camp is being offered at just one location and is offered by invitation for one-day only. The cost is just $80 which will include lunch and a RASE Soccer Speed & Agility T-shirt! Given that all instruction will take place indoor on the turf, registration will only be open to a limited number of campers.
