That's sports. Does this mean Stoke City are challenging for the league title because they beat Arsenal 1-0 yesterday? Look at the quality of play and less at the scoreboard. Which teams are actually attempting to pass or keep the ball and not force it vs the ones getting W's off of smash ball breakaways or by pinning them in their own half by thumping it in deep every time the ball trickles to their feet? To minimize subjectivity or biased perceptions, I challenge you to keep tally how many completed passes one team achieves over another. The only gap closing over time is the effectiveness of kickball vs playing the right way. It still works, but less and less as the girls develop their soccer iq and athleticism. This is why 04RASE is so good. It's not just about how athletic, big, tall and technical their players are. It's also about how they play the game.

 

I agree. It takes discipline when they go up against a kickball style team. Very well said.

It's does mean that arsenal isn't really a serious challenge for the title though.

Arsenal sitting at the top of the table is like seeing an Elephant sitting on top of a tree.
You don't know how he got there but you know at some point he is gonna fall.

Actually outside of that game I am happy to see the girls league scores closing.  It seems like alot of close scores.  Maybe defenses are getting organized and it's limiting the effectivness of one or two top players carrying the scoring loads.  Gasp!!!! could teams all be playing a little better soccer????  In NTX????

We watched Odyssey play last week. Based solely off what we witnessed I wouldn't call them a kickball team. I am not sure how they looked yesterday.

I agree the scores are becoming closer as this group ages. It is a lot more exciting to watch. For the most part, it appears a lot of these teams are more evenly matched but end up with a well placed free kick or pk to determine the win.
