Agreed...local rankings don't mean much when you're that talented. I think kicks should petition lake highlands to let them enter QT. We've seen now for several years there's no reason to hold these super teams back. Imagine if rowdies 99, bates 01 or srsa 03 had been allowed to play up in qt and challenge their teams in an appropriate competitive environment.
I agree with that in theory. If the 1st season of LH was 8v8 or 9v9 I'd agree 100%. We already push these kids to 11v11 too early.

BWG.. I know you have stated the reasoning before, but could you refresh us as to why a team that plays almost all their games a year up would not be included in their rankings?  is it all your lust for power  Very Happy  or does it have a solid logical reason?

Younger teams playing "up" are always included in the ranking calculation for the older age group.  However, I always remove those teams from the final ranking list that I post.

My experience is that most people really just want to know where their DD's team stacks up relative to the other teams within their own age group.  The closer the age group gets to going select, the more "important" this becomes to them.  Since the younger teams can't and won't be going select at the same time, adding in the younger teams just "clutters" the ranking list.  If I do this for one younger team, then I really have to do this for ALL younger teams that are playing up, either in leagues or in tournaments.

So, that's my reasoning, and I see no need to change it now.  Anyone who wants to know where a younger team playing up stacks up in the older age group rankings, just simply has to ask me and I'll let them know.

People on this forum like polls. Let's vote.

That is exactly why Kicks should not get too fired up about being included in the 05 rankings.  It will just make the ridiculously premature jump to 11v11 happen that much sooner for them.

To see where they stand, all you have to do is look at game results.  Although we know that results can vary from week to week, it will tell the story of how they stack up to the upper tier of 05 teams.  We don't need to ask BW to add more work and to get on a slippery slope.  Being the de facto #1 in their own rankings should be enough.

I am referring to the ALL he mentioned. I would not mind the clutter. The more data the better.

Vote all you want. I've been down that path before, it didn't work out well, so I'm not going back.

If someone wants an '05 ranking that includes one or all of the '06 teams, then by all means, they should go create one and publish it. Just don't look for it coming from me. pirat

I was just bored in the rain yesterday locked up at home. I was trying to enlighten your Monday. Nobody even pays much attention to FBR except for LH seeding or tournaments. It's lost its luster since the 01 days..lol.

Who will have a better season at U11 LH?
Sting Diaz or Solar Pulp?
Which development model will work the best?

I don't think the Diaz parents like Pulps two team style.   Very Happy

It's not that we don't like the 2-team style! It's the way it's implemented, the application so to speak. If Pulp Really had 2-teams I'm fine with that. But when you have 16-17 girls and you Represent that as being 2-teams that's a whole different ball game. If they had brought there white team on Saturday we would have been fine with that. We want to play the best. I think the 2-team thing can definitely be beneficial. One team feeds the other. I just wouldn't want to be one of those parents that had a DD that was told not to come to the game is all. For all we know maybe None of the White team Could make the game? It should just be represented for what it really is.

If that really happened then those white players won't hang around.  In the long run, it is good to have two teams because players not ready at U9 might be ready at U12 and you will need those players to fill spots when others leave.  Sounds like a good rival is developing between Diaz and Pulp.

Will Sting combine talent at U11 or is Diaz, Garrett and Scarfone each own their own?
