Any feedback on Exact Soccer ID camps?

I get emails frequently from Exact Soccer about their ID camps, how I'm not sure, but I do find the idea interesting. After looking at their Facebook page I saw they recently held a girls ID camp in Dallas last month. Am wondering specifically if the 1 on 1 coach evaluations were informative or basically a checklist.

Anybody have any feedback? Just curious if it's worth the money.

Took my DD to the Dallas camp over the winter and thought it was pretty good. The evaluations were interesting but depend on the coach completing them. My DD got a thorough evaluation with lots of comments, but her friend just got a checklist with hardly any thought put into it. The Q&A session with the coaches is what was most valuable.

Was your DD an upperclassmen or underclassmen?

I saw one comment elsewhere that said the earlier the better if only to inform your kid as to what it will take to play soccer in college.

Underclassmen. She is a sophomore but there were a handful of freshmen there too.

How good is it as an ID camp? I notice it's one day. Typical ID camps are several days long. Can the coaches really get a good look at the girls after only a single day? Or is it just a way for them to make some money?

Overall it was pretty good. The feedback my DD got seemed pretty personal and not just a check list. The coaches talks to the parents and kids was very informative. I enjoyed it a lot. My DD is a keeper and our only complaint was that the keepers were pretty bored the second half of the day. They were put on small sided scrimmages where they switched out with another keeper. Very little direction during the scrimmages. DD made the comment after the end “those field players must be really tired”. She was bored to death. Field players were kept very busy the entire time. Other than that had a good time and got some good info.

Make no mistake, the $money$ is what brings the coaches out. If they come across a player they would like to Recruit, then that is icing on the cake. For the players, any touches on the ball with a different coach will always be a good thing. Advice would be to attend the ID Camps of the schools on your dds short list, if they are not able to watch her play in a game. Call the coach first, let them know you're interested and plan to attend camp.

Thanks so much for all of the feedback! My DD is still pretty young (they assumed the wrong graduation class based upon her birthdate) but this is something we'll definitely look into next summer. If anything, it looks like it would give her exposure to college coaches. It's not so much the potential recruiting aspect that appeals, but more so the opportunity for her to become comfortable interacting with college coaches so she'll have more confidence later on when it really matters.

These type of camps would be great for that. The coaches eat lunch with the players, engage them in conversation during water breaks, etc.

email any target coaches at colleges to see if they attend these camps and which ones, that way you can be very specific for info that may benefit your daughter directly.

So I took my daughter to the Austin one a week ago. It was good. Having lots of coaches there for one camp has its benefits. We have been getting blast emails from about 30 coaches inviting us to their camps. It's hard to know who is really interested and who just wants our $$. At this camp, my DD got lots of good feedback and coaching contacts. Now we have a set of coaches that we know are really interested, and it helps narrow down which individual college ID camps to go to. We might go to the next one too because it has a differing set of coaches.
