FC Dallas 00 Girls East

FC Dallas 00 Girls East is in the process of naming a new head coach for the group; and will resume training by the latter half of this week. The team will be competing in the Lake Highlands Girls Classic League Division II this upcoming 2014-2015 season. We would like to welcome players out to join us for a training session, once the aforementioned has been established. More information to follow.

So as to dispel rumors, Coach Jon Hopkins is no longer coaching within the FC Dallas Organization. I want to personally thank Coach Hopkins for his commitment and dedication to the Organization, particularly the East Division over the last two years. Coach Hopkins remains in communication with the East Division’s staff in regards to helping the group retain and recruit players so as to field a quality and competitive team for the upcoming season.

While the club is trying to react, it's ashame that the coach leaves without talking to his team.  These are a great bunch of girls who are going to get lost in the shuffle.  I wish all the girls and their families the best of luck.

What do you mean not talking to the team? I witnessed a team meeting about the move to Solar which involved both the 00 and 03 parents. Maybe you were not there but I know first hand the Coach talked to the parents of both teams. Those interested in going to Solar with JH have been attending practices with Solar. Those not interested in moving to Solar were granted releases. Thus, not sure again by what you mean by leaving without talking to his team.

FCD hired Chris Spear, the Genesis coach to coach FCD East. He will bring some of the girls from Genesis with him depending on returning FCDE players, new player turnout and tryouts. Genesis as it exists will fold.

That will be a very solid team. And I personally like coach Chris. I have met him numerous times, and he is a classy guy. I hope they finish right behind us in the standings-lol!

But seriously, good luck to that group!

there are a lot more qualified coach than Spears. please look at his record any major tournaments he's been in and have won. I do t think so. FC you could have done a little better. He has been trying to qualify for how many years with his team and hasn't. But you put together a team and qualify the next year, look at who qualified last year that put a good group of girls together and are now in D3. I see the same happening to them as to what happened to Meja.

I don't know the coach or team but personally I  don't think you can use that as a reference point for a coach.  You can only play/win with the talent on the field. If you give him the talent and then he can't win then I would agree.  I say, "Give the guy a chance."

This does not 1) indicate he is bringing his whole team; and 2) to Its Me's point, you have to play with the team at hand. If I remember right, they actually did pretty well in the LH QT last summer but didn't quite make it in. There are a number of teams that wound up in that position.

Genesis came out on top of PPL D1 this season so I think that also says a lot. So, what part of that makes him a bad coach with a bad team?
