05 League Challenge Cup

I left after the U10 final yesterday.  Anyone care to provide some commentary on the U9 final between DT South and Sting Central Sanchez?  They played on Saturday and DT South won 4-0.  The final was DT South 2-1.

Curious to hear how this played out also.

Final score was 2-1 DTS went into overtime.

Yes, but why was the second game so much more competitive?

They probably brought out more Diaz girls on Sunday.

So, a few Diaz girls were able to close the gap from four to essentially zero goals, at least in regulation? Impressive. Still, perhaps some, or a lot, of the credit should go to the Sanchez girls for adapting and elevating their play?

Well also take in consideration it was half of DTS 05 B team on the field and that goal they had was a auto goal.

Both teams have some great shooters, regardless of A or B.

We'll give them credit, but I would love to see an ALL Sanchez team play against the whole DTS 05 A team though to put this to rest.

Why would you want to see top DTS vs Sanchez? Isn't Sting Sanchez like the 4th or 5th best Sting Team? Also Curious as to why DTS Plays in Tournaments like this. Doesn't seem they had anything to gain from it, Unless you value a $3.00 metal that much. I don't think Sanchez has enough for a full team. Seems like a couple of the Diaz girls are always playing with them. Oh and I heard that was the DTS A TEAM???

What a game that would be! DTS 05's keeper is very good. I didnt get to see her get tested throughout the tournament. Again I did miss the last game though.

DTS were missing several key players. I counted 4.

I believe DTS joined the tournament at the last minute.

Only so people will see it won't be a close game. DTS was contacted at the last minute to join the tournament. DTS plays up all the TIME why is it a big deal for them to play their actual age group once?! Well sorry to inform you but your sources are wrong that wasn't the whole A team. I think I would know a little more since my daughter does play for the A team.

I personally think Sting Sanchez vs DTS would be a very good game. So would Sting Diaz vs DTS.
Both games would be very competitive.

I agree with this.  Any team should be able to play in any tournament without being questioned.  Touches are touches and coaches use tournaments against what people may view as lesser talent to play girls in other positions or work on style of play.  They entered as DT South and not DT South Red or B so there was no hiding anything and they did the other teams a service by giving them a good opponent to play to hopefully make those teams better.  On the other hand, I would not be too happy as a Sanchez parent if my DD played all tournament but was then pushed aside if better players were brought in just for the championship game.  I question whether that really happened but also hope the roster that the TD received before the tournament started listed those girls too.

Where is Sting Diaz playing indoor by the way?  And others? Unfortunately, there has never been a discussion about summer plans and who is playing where.  It's middle of June, we have a lot of summer left.
