I was informed by someone directly involved in recent discussions involving another very successful independent that the only way that this independent could get involved with City FC would be through merger/acquisition with/by one of the existing affiliate members. It appears that they are only interested in protecting or expanding their own turf. However, I would think that other non-affiliated independents could form a similar joint venture/team to petition for inclusion in NPL.

2 years in works is a good sign. JV's that are set up over 6 months, hardly ever work--It shows the JV has worked through (and survived) numerous preliminary details.
IMO, the biggest operational question is, who are going to be the coaches of the respective age groups?

Re: Can someone clue me in on the City FC "Elite" program…?
Who we played was on the Link included so I thought that was pretty obvious.
We played a Houston Dynamo team and and Space City Side. The league includes Express, Eclipse, Tulsa Blitz, Liverpool, and Oklahoma football club.
As I like to be honest, it's hard to say how the competition was without including how the team played. (which to me is important to measure the competition) Both teams from North Texas played the same teams. LP won 1-0 and 1-0 City FC won 3-0 and 4-0. Scores don't mean anything without context. LP could have won 1-0 and had 15 shots on net and just couldn't breakdown their defense or keeper. In using the eye test this was my conclusion from the weekend. The Space City keeper was probably one of the best U14 keepers I have seen. The Space City side was organized but didn't have the athletes that the City FC team had Dynamo had athletes and could play but wasn't as organized defensiviely. ( Note the City FC team is made up primarily of Lakehighland Division 1 girls a few others from other teams but to get an Idea of the makeup) I think both sides were pretty organized but were probably out matched by the quality of the City FC side. In the first match it was nil nil until stopage time where we got a goal. Then the flood gates opened up in the 2nd half. In the 2nd match we scored early on a set play and scored all goals in the first half. So if rating the competition without looking at the whole picture it would be hard to do. I appologize if it came off as defensive. Right now I would say too early to tell about the league think it's currently a wait and see. With the hope of getting some sides within the City FC program to Nationals so they can represent North Texas well. Only 2 games in so the answer to your quesiton may come after game 5. Have a wonderful day.

DD is a 99.Lost first game to Space City who is currently 4-0-1 in league. City scored first then Space City equalized on the last kick of the first half. Space City then scored off a corner in the second half. Game was stopped for a about 30 minutes as a City DD had to be taken off by ambulance ( she is Ok now).Even game with City better the first half and Space City the second. It was the first game for the City girls together.Zizou wrote:Who did you play? And what was the score?
Sunday, City won 1-0 scoring with about 6 minutes remaining.Really should have been something like a 3-0 scoreline but that's soccer. Good players on all sides.
