ECNL November Review and Bold Predictions Empty ECNL November Review and Bold Predictions

Post by Big Poppy 08/12/14, 07:11 pm

November was another great month for North Texas.  All ECNL teams played well at the Phoenix tournament and we came away with a 10 wins, 2 ties and 4 losses.

Kicks show well in the National League tournament with 2 wins and 2 ties.  Currently placed 2nd in the Blue division.

Predictions:

12/13
Sting vs. Albion         3-1
Solar vs. FC Dallas     2-0
Lonestar vs. Dfeeters 2-1
Rush vs. Challenge     3-1

12/14
Albion vs. Dfeeters   1-2
Lonestar vs. Sting    1-2 (this could be the game of the week)

Bold Predictions:

Sting will win enough games to place 2nd.  They are playing well and they continue to grow as a team/unit.

Texas Rush will end the season with more Yellow Cards than goals.  Currently trending in that direction....14 yellow cards....rest of league 8.  Rush is a good team...not sure why they need to foul so much?

Solar takes 1st place, but they do not go 18-0-0.

Kicks win Lake Highlands D1 and Premiere League.

These are some of my predictions.......let's hear yours!

My two cents...Weekend Games
Sting vs. Albion 1-0
Solar vs. FC Dallas 1-0
Lonestar vs. Dfeeters 1-1
Rush vs. Challenge 2-1
Albion vs. Dfeeters 2-0
Lonestar vs. Sting 1-3

Season Predictions:
Solar will not be beaten..could see a tie
Texans will place second just ahead of Sting
FCD 4th and Feet will end 9th besting only Challenge
LS will finish 5th
Albion 6th - Think LS has too much of a pts lead for A to get there, but playing well
Rush will finish 7th - has the easiest run to Spring 6 of 7 final games against the bottom half and all at home
TSC continues to fade to take 8th
FEET 9th
Chall goes winless and last

so with all the good players in NXT not in encl why is it feet can not compete. We know there select pool is not deep at far as # of teams and that maybe part of it, but they must have either not attracted the number of talented kids or selected the wrong ones. Not bashing them but I think they have done better in the past or picked up coaches and teams to fill the gap? Any thoughts from the crowd?

ECNL November Review and Bold Predictions Empty Re: ECNL November Review and Bold Predictions

It is a good question Havingfunyet..suspect the lack of depth in select teams is a problem as you suggest. There is also the question of would kids that are dual rostered on Solar, Texans, FCD and Sting give up playing for those clubs at this age to potentially start at FEET. They know that those clubs are potential conference winners each year and if they can crack the team by 16s they will be in a strong place if they want to play in College. Also think FEET changed their coach of last year who was well liked and seen as very strong so that may have impacted as well. Hope they prove me wrong but results seem to be trending the wrong way for them.

With the 01's it has been a frustrating season and Feet has been in every game. They have had two monumental collapses vs. Albion and FCD allowing four goals in the second half of each game. Other than that they have played some exciting games. Once this group of girls figures out the finishing third they should be fine.

Yup. Feet doesn't need any new players or any changes, they just need to figure out the finishing third. confused

Solar finally loses a game and a great win for FCD!
It is difficult believe "dominated" with a score of 3-2. Any rebuttals from the Solar side?

You can dominate possession most of a game and still make some mistakes...Solar 1st goal on a corner, 2nd goal great long shot. Was great soccer to watch!

This is truly amazing!  It must be the refs...  It surely cannot be coaching...!

History with these teams always repeats itself. Solar is a great team, like they were in the earlier years, but teams adjust and grow to level it up. Predictions? so much for those but 14 yellows is a little light. Most of those must have come on the road for them. If you can beat them within the rules, then you beat em up in ECNL? I don't see that lasting.

Congrats to FCD - a great win verse the number one team in the country. I am surprised but no easy wins against Solar so hats off to FCD. As for the yellow cards for Rush there is no denying they have a lot of cards. However of the 16 they have received all but 2 came in the 5 games they have played in Houston. Seems cards don't come out as much in Dallas, Tulsa or Phoenix - not sure what that means but I will let others draw their own conclusions.
