They shouldn't be addressing their own kids during a game let alone barking insults and remarks to opposing players.

Parents on the sideline Empty Re: Parents on the sideline

I can say as a Ref (for me), that one single word from a parent to a kid, equaled an immediate 1st and only warning to that parent.

As a parent, when I hear parents addressing other kids, that is the lowest thing you can do out there. If you can't handle your dd being fouled, put her in another sport, go sit in the car, or yell at the Ref. Just never another kid. That is the #1 reason for parent fights.

you have to be a nutbag to talk to any kid but your own and even then that's dicey....messing with people's kids is asking for trouble...

Unless you are encouraging a player, say nothing.

Would "I encourage you to stop pushing" be alright?

Or " Hey Number 18, great job punching and kicking my daughter! Thank you!"

Or "Ref, thank you so much for allowing number 17 to pummel my daughter, she is so much stronger for it. Can we have you at our next game, you are wonderful."

Why not just start a new poll... Nothing like a poll to get the forum revved up for Spring time!

Idea:

05 Worst Sidelines:
and enter a list of the 4 or 5 worst in your mind and let the magic of the popular vote point out the bad apples

My DD has never committed a foul, so this hasn't been an issue. Very Happy

My favorites are the parents of teams that play an especially physical brand of soccer who start throwing fits on the sideline when the opposing team raises their physicality to match. I've seen some pretty ugly comments directed at opposing players in that situation. It would be humorous if it wasn't so wrong.

OK, so is it all right to tell your DD to pay no attention to that player, you are outplaying her and that is upsetting her. Cool

I think the indirect comments are just as bad. Gets the other parents going and starts trouble. Just shut up and watch the game. But every team has a vocal parent and that likes to get everyone going.

that's another can of worms. I have heard people tell their kids, "that 17 has no talent thats why she is fouling you etc". why someone would say things like this is nuts...
