She want to try-out/practice/camp with a select team, do I need a release form from my rec team coach?

Thanks.

If she is not signed with a select team, then I believe she is a free agent and can practice/play with whatever select team she wants. She just won't be able to play in any NTX soccer leagues as they would require her to be a rostered player.

No release form needed for a rec player to participate in a competitive practice. For a competitive team, no roster changes are allowed after April 1. So a roster release doesn't apply at this time and she could not play in a NTSSA league for the competitive team this spring.

She can practice, tryout and attend camps for any competitive team. It can change week to week.

To guest play in tournament, your current coach and home association would need to sign the guest player form until June 30.

Thanks for the direct answer.

We are looking to move to a select team, so she need to wait until June-July to be in a select team roster?

On or after July 1st your dd can be rostered with a select team.

If you think you are going competitive next year then this is a great time to attend practice with the teams you have an interest in. Just talk to the competitive coach. Most are open to having you attend practice.

Also beware that if a rec payer guest plays with a competitive team and wants to join that team during the next soccer year,  must seek approval from local association.

Bottom line is that your player is owned by the team and permission must be acquired from current coach to practice with another team or a private coach, and a guest play form is required for tournaments and includes any practice sessions leading up to the tournament.  In June, a rostered player may practice with any team or coach without permission, but guest playing forms are required for tournaments.  Contracts may be signed with competitive teams on or after July 1.

Thanks for the response. I appreciate the corrections. My fault.

Although I think you misread the rec guest player limitations. Guest playing for a competitive team doesn't limit your options for the following year. It only applies to the rec teams.

"The recreational guest player may not be transferred or added to the hosting team’s recreational roster for the remainder of the current soccer year, and all of the following soccer year, unless the player transfer is approved by the player’s home Member Association."

You should find a form on your rec league web site. Have your coach approve and then have your commissioner approve. There should be no problem if the coach approves. The team coach you are visiting should ask for this signed form too. Your rec coach might be the best person to have the commissioner sign off as your coach has likely had contacts with the commissioner. Best to have the name rather than just send it to the association so it doesn't languish on someone's desk.
