Plano Power Division Week 1

It was an exciting 1st weekend in Plano's Power Division for the 01's.  Andromeda West looked very strong Saturday and beat FC Dallas Silver 3-0.  Andro has a very strong player (#2) who is hard to keep up with.  FCUSA nullified her somewhat on Tuesday with their strong defense and great keeper and held Andro to 1 goal. FC Dallas Red had a powerful start beating Amarillo 3-1.  FC Dallas Red appears to have an advantage in this division as they have several solid ECNL players (02's, but ECNL nonetheless) so Kudos to their coach for assembling a team in less than a week after a mass exodus.  They appear stronger than last year's side.  

FCUSA is definitely a team to watch.  They have some new additions who, along with their core, are making significant impact.  They have the toughest starting schedule by far in the division having to open against FCD Red as well as Andomeda, but played strong games with come from behind ties with very creative goals which were engineered by some very talented players.  The match with FC Dallas Red ended 2-2 and was truly a battle of wills.  But not for a couple of near misses, FCUSA would have picked up 3 points.  Texas Spirit is a team to watch as well as they out possessed Fusion Elite and one would think the law of averages will get them some more scores.  The game to watch this weekend has to be Texas Spirit against FCD Silver.  It's pretty much a must win for Silver so that should be a donnybrook.  A fun start to an extremely short season (Thanks Plano).  Spirit, Andro, both FCD's and FCUSA are definitely going to be battling for those top 2 spots.  It should be interesting, especially having those 5 teams who participated in the LHQT and most had a decent showing.  Good luck to all.
