Is what it is, but seems there should have been a contingency plan to hold workouts elsewhere if the issue was the North Texas soccer field. Especially for the people that were traveling from literally hundreds of mile away.

While the rain was uncomfortable, didn't seem to be too bad as far as ability to practice soccer. If the field was an issue, there is a huge amount of space just across the street- that's where they hold cross country meets every year. Seems they could have made a backup plan to hold workouts there- even "optional" workouts.

We have had multiple conflicts due to club soccer games, and finally had a weekend we could make the ODP. Consider so many people traveling 10-40 miles EACH WAY just within the metroplex, would have been nice not to make that a wasted effort.

Sorry to hear you all had to drive from far and the practices were canceled.  

Probably they tried to arrange indoor and were not successful. We liked the fact that practice was canceled, it would have been somewhat miserable for the parents to watch in wet weather  Laughing . Not sure if the kids would have liked it or hated it.  

For us it was enough notice (90 minutes) that it does not cause too much of an inconvenience. Understand you are driving from far.

Hopefully not many practices/ league games are canceled this season. Last spring season was nightmare.

actually we're local- that was in empathy for the others. also, didnt realize there was a 90 min announcement. re weather, i know mine stillnwanted to practice (or so she said!

Some actually traveled 300+ miles one way for the last minute cancellation.

Traveled over 300 miles for the training. Light drizzle was not that bad.

We have been traveling 4.5/5 hours one way since U12 (DD is now U15). Luckily or unluckily we have learned to watch the weather 7 to 10 days out and to keep at least one set eyes on the weather each day. If there is a slight chance of rain we usually don't go. Unfortunately we have made it to Abilene twice in years past and found out practice was cancelled. We didn't mind at the time because we would have rather watched the Walking Dead at 8pm anyway. My DD is ECNL also this year and many times we are already in town for games so she attends ODP practice if there is one. It sucks for all involved when practice is cancelled but it is what it is.
