They usually change the wrong scores pretty quick if incorrect.

That's the one I heard was wrong. 3-0 Sparta.

Fever already qualified with its 5-0 win today!

Looks like Bellatores already qualified too. Some good Sunday matches with top spot on the line:

Believe the one lowest placed team gets dropped. Everyone else who doesn't win a group this weekend comes back next week.

Happens every year... Top teams will just lay an egg. A lot will come back and qualify the next weekend....but then some don't. We'll see....!

Qualifying is an exciting time! Good luck to everyone this coming weekend and good luck in the season to the surprise qualifiers in all age groups! It's always great to watch teams grow.

#10 over a #5 will happen in league play too. Not a huge upset. Just a little one. Good win for them. Now like they say every year. Let's see how they do in league games.

lol...exactly, KC. I agree; not a huge upset, but still an upset. If you look at that bracket and the results, you have some really wonky ones. A Draw result or two in that bracket were also surprising. That was just a funky bracket the way it played out. Buuuuuut, that's why the game is played on the field and not in this forum... HAHA!

Even more interesting as you point out, is what happens over an 18 game season. As I've pointed out before in other threads on this forum, be careful what you ask for. Not suggesting this will happen in this case (cuz I honestly don't know the team at all), but many a team has had the elation of making D1 turn into a season long slog of very difficult results. If you look at every megagroup, the bottom 5 ALWAYS have very tough years. And if you really look into it, a good number of them qualified the first weekend.

Yes, I was out at the fields yesterday supporting a friend's kid. I did watch the Sting/DTCentral game for a bit. Possession and pressure was a bit lopsided, but the result is what counts!

The only other "upset" - Bracket G. #8 seed Triumph Aguero qualified with 1-0 win over #7 seed Sting North Covey.

Even less of an surprise than #10 over #5. 7 & 8 seeds should be basically even most of the time...

Yeah, I don't consider that an upset. That's just two even teams.

Yes we will get in! We had our chances to get things done. I guess too much pressure on my girls that they couldn't handle, which is understandable and all good. Congrats to you and your girls they did the work to get it done.

The qualifying teams are good, some very good. The ones you have to watch TFC are already in LH.

Absolutely. With a year under their belt, probably made up of Jan-July birthday those teams are strong, of course we are at a disadvantage as Aguero is purely Aug-Dec 05 and even an 06. No complaints no excuses just know they are some tough challenges ahead in the next soccer year. We will give it our best shot

The qualifying teams are good, some very good.  The ones you have to watch TFC are already in LH.

Not just them. Don't forget the ones who already had byes. DTS, FCD Elite, Solar, Sting West...those are all going to be strong. I know JDL dilutes some of that, but with dual-rostering, those teams aren't going to be pushovers. LFC Elite, Fever, Kicks -- those are real teams as well, as you pointed out. Look at the scores from LFC, Kicks, Fever. I mean, they all just trashed their brackets. Heck, Fever didn't even have to play their third game. My DD isn't in this age bracket but I'm just sayin'....

Well, in TFC's defense, they perhaps shouldn't have been put in Gold. Looking back, both Fever and Kicks Selecao should obviously have been placed higher in TUT. A lot of folks get crunched by Solar Red. 1-0 loss to Gray is not a bad result. That JM team can obviously play as well, though, I'll still contend that Selecao in Silver and JM in Gold didn't make a ton of sense, but whatever. I still have suspicions about that little twist. Either way, I'm sure JM would have done well in Silver where Selecao was.

1-0 lost to Sting Gray happened in the last 5 minutes of a very even game. JM game we were 3-0 down at half and dominated the 2nd half. Solar we were terrible no excuses and we beat the Texans #5 seed fair and square. Still don't get how playing in Silver and winning translates to a higher seed while playing in gold against some of the best teams equates to a lower seed. It doesn't matter now just didn't understand the seeding committee thinking

I'm sure they take prior records into account as well as play style, etc, etc.... I can't pretend to know but the seeding probably is more complicated than it looks. Plus, just playing against good teams doesn't prove anything, right? I mean, the bottom teams in D1 are not necessarily better than the top teams of D2 just because they played in D1. That's why there is a relegation process every year.

Just because a team plays Gold doesn't mean they are automatically better than Silver teams in the same tournament. I'm just saying it is not that simple.

As KeeperCom stated in a prior post, we'll see how it all plays out in the season and then people can talk all they want (i.e. Voutier last year) ...or not - if they get drilled... HA!
