Boys ECNL? Really?

the post said US Club not US Soccer. In my humble opinion DA gets it wrong, how are the "amazing" results been on the world stage for our MNT ? America is a land built on open and free markets not some oddly contorted funneling system as is the DA. Also as the stated goal of the "da" is USMNT or USWNT is that really the aspirational goal we have for our kids (or that they have). Again, imho, ECNL gets it right as the pathway leads to college and that is the goal ; to think that a USM's or USW's team would not "draft" a top player from UNC whether or not they played DA, ECNL or even no affiliation is nuts. If you look at the success rate and who has done what, there is no question US Club is winning that race. Backing up to my original post, it certainly appears that US Club is liking what LP is doing as they continue to recognize them with invites into their leagues. Agree they may have been a little slow to come around but they are there now and that is what counts.

This is funny! I'm pretty sure you were saying negative things about US Club Soccer and ECNL when your club was left out. US Club Soccer would have promoted Liverpool before now if they liked what they were doing. I hate to tell you this but your Club is now being used to pad the product in preparations for a huge swing in power in the next few years. It's cool I'm glad they finally are giving you the call up.

Unless the ECNL changes their minimum requirements, LP doesn't even have the chops to apply on the girls side.

Even worse after they lose their flagship 03s next year.

None of the top clubs here in NoTX are playing Boys ECNL.  
Boys ECNL was formed for two main reasons - first, to give the Federation the bird for having the stones to create a competing girls league (DA) to ECNL, and second - to compensate for the lack of revenue due to the number of clubs dropping girls ECNL.
Once the Texas region go all in with DA2 then girls ECNL will be a memory. Or at least become division 3.
My prediction is that within a year or so, Boys and Girls ECNL will end up being a vehicle to fill the lower DII, DII, and JuCo college roster spots.

You are probably so right WT. I mean it is usually only the top HS that get their football players into D1 schools and only D1 schools send players to the NFL. So if you think only DA players will get into D1 schools you have been drinking the kook aid with a little something extra added. Big prob with DA. It isn't funded yet. Will prob be a couple years for that. So before it is fully funded it will be the top D1 school sender. Got it. OK book it guys. We can all go home now. WT has it figured out. Nothing more to talk about here.

Of the 1300+ graduating seniors playing ECNL this year, 75% signed with NCAA DI programs.
DA will be the next ECNL.
ECNL will then cater to the next tier.
What is so difficult to understand?

That's isn't what you said. You said only DA will go to D1 schools and everyone else would go D2 or lower. Yes ECNL has a large % go D1. That doesn't mean that other leagues do not have D1 players. All I am saying. You will have both the girls/boys that are willing to give up other sports for DA, and you will have some that are not.

Generally seems like the direction things are moving for a geography like NTX:
. DA will become the primary path to the top half of the D1 College programs
. ECNL will become a good path to the second tier of D1 schools, D2 & other programs
. other leagues will be a source for a few players here and there to work their way into some of the D1s but primarily D2 & others
. There will always be exceptions but the odds will be long.

The path and odds will be different for other geographies where DA is not within a reasonable commute.

How about 'Feet? They seem to be a club on a gradual decline. LP has more teams per age group and a boys side...so obviously a club with more financial resources/potential. I say that from an outside position. No DD or any parent connections to LP or Feet.
