US Training Center in North Texas

According to the website there was a US Training Center in North Texas for 2006-2005 and 2004-2003 girls on Oct 9th. It was by invitation only and just a one day thing. Did anyone go? I haven't seen any posts anywhere talking about it. I was just trying to get any info about it...Thanks!

Yep..girls went...and trained. Then they went home had a snack and off to bed.

The US Soccer Market Training Centers in Dallas are a monthly event from Sep-May for U12-13, U14-15 age groups. They are invite only which stem most often from referral by market club representatives, and occasionally from direct scouting.

Okie hopefully you get to see some stacked teams in your tourname coming up. I think you should play up in 04 maybe other true teams will show to compete up. You will get a hodge podge in 05.

Per a reliable source. Katie Cole (who now runs US Soccer North Texas Market Training Center) talked to the parents at the last market training center and it was made public that moving forward all invites will come directly from her scouting of DA games.

So say goodbye to the DOC’s holding US Soccer Training Center invites over parents and players heads moving forward.

That is a positive step moving forward to removing the politics of the training center

Should I feel bad that a coach or DOC has never held one of these invites over my or my DD’s head???

Oh trust me, they get wind of you making changes. They will use anything necessary. Including market training and id2.

Hmmm ... something seems amiss.  Since about 1/3 of kids currently participating in MTC aren't playing for DA clubs, are they gonna boot 'em?  And it's a bit of a logistical reach for Katie to get around to enough DA matches in the Frontier Division to make decisions like this isn't it?  I've seen her at 1 of my kid's 8 matches so far this Fall.

Also ... I don't think any of the MTC coordinators at any of the bigs are DOCs at their respective clubs, and I know that coordinators at FCD and Solar are not using this as a recruiting tool -- Too much on the line.

This may be tough for some of you conspiracy theorists to believe, but there isn't as much politicking involved in the upper levels, nor with MTC as you may think -- These are extremely high pressure environments where player movement/placement/status is near 100% performance based.

Selection from the highest levels on down have always been political. Nothing US Soccer has done gives confidence that this will change anytime soon.
