FBR09 Rankings February 22nd, 2018

Updated 09 FBR as of 2/22/18. Only 09 teams with 3 or more games played since 09/17/17 are included in the FBR published rankings. All games in the U9 leagues and tournaments that "publish results" are included.  

FBR09 will also include any 09 teams playing against each other in the 08 division.  As long as the teams that are playing up are not using 08 players when playing against each other 09 teams.

Also, ranking points are derived from who you play and their tier(not your own tier) and, how well the teams you play do.  As always regulation scores are used for FBR, not OT and no PKs that determine game result(if known).  FBR is presented as W/L/T not W/T/L.  This FBR is the sole representation of FBR09,  any and all complaints(and compliments) should be directed to FBR09.  These rankings use the same software and criteria as with all prior year FBRs.

with another rainout weekend coming, are games going to start falling off the back end of these rankings?

I can not go back and delete any games after September 17th if we don't get to play any games for two weeks. The FBR report will not change if no games are played.

I'm having game withdrawals.

So if a team has beaten a team twice in the last few months, the only two times they have played, yet they are still ranked 17 spots lower than them, how does this work? Sorry, new here!

Potentially. It all depends on who that team has played and how they did against higher ranked teams. For example, you won't make it into the top 10 if you do not play the top 10 teams. If you play higher ranked teams and lose all your games you will be a higher ranked team than one that wins all their games to lower ranked teams. There are lower ranked teams with much better records than some of the top 10 teams, but because these teams win against lower ranked teams they remain lower ranked. It is complicated....

Okay, thank you! I'm still learning. It was also in 5 v 5 that they beat them, so that might matter. We did beat the number 10 team 6-2 a few weeks ago, but not sure if all of our information is getting reported. I will check into that. Thanks for your time!

Also, there are some coaches with multiple teams in the age group and the teams are named similar names. For example, #4 and #19 could easily be confused.

I think this only factors in NTSSA games. Indoor won't be in your rankings. You can check your game history on Got Soccer. Here is the #10 team game history: http://home.gotsoccer.com/rankings/team.aspx?TeamID=941973&History=yes&compact=. I do not see a 6 to 2 loss.

You see this is the case of the coach having two teams in the same age group and names are very close.

FBR does not report games that aren't 7 v 7. FBR does not report 3v3, 4v4, 5v5 or indoor games.

Very much so. Appreciate all the, well most of the, insightful and welcoming information. I appreciate those who helped out someone who stated they were new and is trying to learn. Seems to be safer to not say anything at all. Thanks!

10S09mom, Don't let it deter you from using this forum. There is a certain level of snark you can usually anticipate, but lots of helpful resources here too. The rankings are complicated and it took me awhile to figure them out as well.

There, there...I know it was an innocent mistake - it's all good . The folks who manage the FBRs put a lot of time into producing the rankings. This is why it is a little frustrating for someone to come onto the thread and question the ranking without doing their own research on how it's calculated and then to proceed to confuse the No. 10 team with the No. 71 team.

BWGOPHERS (now GUEST) provides a complete explanation of the methodology and the software used to calculate the rankings. Everything should make a lot more sense once you read through that.

I can say playing a lot of the other top teams last season you guys are pretty good...Definitely a top 20 team. Keep up the good work

So just found out they double booked MoneyGram and no game this weekend....awesome. Last game was 2/4/18....and wont play again until 3/18/18. So glad we decided to play this league. lol
