National Youth Soccer Rankings

Has anyone seen this? I thought I read somewhere that this report is more accurate than FBR but wondering how it could be with so many Texas teams missing. Thoughts?!

Based on the odd mix of teams in there now and their histories, it seems that system only pulls data for teams with history against U10 teams. The only teams in there now played up in some leagues and/or tournaments the last few seasons, so their data got pulled. The ranking should become more accurate as the 09 teams start playing the current group of U10 teams, starting with the upcoming tourneys and league play.

That is the most accurate soccer rankings and does take into consideration every team you play, regardless of age. That site just started pulling data for the 09 age group, so it will take a little bit before all the data is loaded.

I'll agree. Once the data is loaded, it has been very accurate for U10-U12 in our age group.

U13 and up not so much.

Why post the data if it’s not complete data?

It isn't that it is incomplete. It is that it takes 6 months or so for each team to have dozens of games against different opponents for the computer to have enough data for things to get more accurate.
Look at, say, the U12 age group and you will see most teams with dozens of games that allows any "small sample size" bias to work itself out.
For the 08 age group, it was January of this year by the time there was enough data and enough teams playing each other across regions to start seeing the computer matching the eye test.
So give it some time. The computer scrapes a large majority of all games played across the country. YSR is really good once there is a large enough data set.

Instead of taking what you read on the internet as the truth. Look at current YSR for 08s and the final FBR, Top 20 and top 30 and compare with who made LH. You tell us which one is more accurate.

As others have noted YSR is very good, but he does national rankings and there is too much data to 'fine tune' for one off local problems. FBR for U10 I have found is more accurate on a local level, but it stops at U10. YSR is pretty much all you have U11 and after(I don't include gotsoccer because those rankings suck and are based on how many tourneys you play.)

I still believe the data is incomplete because for the 09 teams, who have only just now become U10, it only currently shows 09 teams that have played U10 teams or older in past seasons. The majority of 09 teams have a lot of available gotsoccer history, but only against U9 teams. This weekend will mark the first time most of the NTX teams are playing in the U10 and U11 (for 9v9) brackets. It will be great to see how YSR evolves as the data becomes available.

It has both rec and club teams, so if your DD is playing both, that can be entertaining to watch as well. Early on is fun when there is big movement in the rankings before they settle.

You can click on the team names and see the results and which games increased or decreased the rankings with little Green & Red arrows.

YSR is the most accurate system that I have seen beyond the FBR (up to qualifying). Guest players will skew any data, but if you look at who played and results it gives a pretty good approximation of what the range of the team is. If they are within a point of you or if there is a new trend after signing, it should give you a decent evaluation. It is fun to look across age groups or at regional teams too if you have a match up. Data is still often incomplete with showcase events at older ages, but better than GS or any other that I have seen.

2 North Texas teams in the top 10!!!! GOOD JOB LADIES. Interesting to see how the TX teams rankings differ from FBR.

It will be interesting to see how this fills out with more data.  Didn’t Rush-DFeeters beat the Cruz team at SuperCopa?

Anyone doing any other travel tourneys now that SC has announced the Dallas 2019 location? And I don’t mean to OK or Houston ;-)

It only includes 9v9 games... Denver was 7v7.

Proph my daughters team is in the data and there are 7v7 games included.  It’s all U10 games and up (and now shows as U11) as someone mentioned previously.  Not that it matters just made an observation that the top listed team has previously been beaten by a lower ranked team according to current data in subject site so curious to see how rankings change with additional U10 data over the course of the season.

I really don’t think this ranking will be accurate till the Spring... interesting to watch but it’s clearly off right now.

Right now, they along with several other teams don't have enough games played as U10 to be ranked, website says they need about 10 games but you can see what their calculated score is if you click into an opponent they have played (ie Solar South)....I believe they would be ranked 9th with 24.85

Colvin currently would be in 17th place with a 24.85 score. As noted, they will need approximately 10 games for them to show in standings

Defeeter's Voutier now ranked # 3 in National Rankings, Solar South #8, Solar Angelone #13, Dallas Kicks (Defeeter's) #14, Dallas Texans Scarfone #15....5 teams from NTX ranked in the top 15 nationally....Some good 09G soccer in our area

These rankings are missing so many teams that at this point it means nothing.

What teams besides Colvin is this rankings missing?? Colvin's team has not played enough 9 v 9 games yet, or U-11 opponents to qualify... This list is actually becoming more and more accurate each and every week. Most of the top teams have also played on another either at Vegas Cup, or Super Copa in Denver so quite a few common opponents.
