Our team manager said they were waiting on the high school schedules. That is all we have been told.

A few U19 teams have expressed concern over the reduced number of scheduled games this year. The current schedule is a direct result of suggestions by a majority of the coaches. These coaches felt that playing fewer games would allow the players to participate in more showcases and would reduce the number of spring games. Historically, pressure to attend other activities has made it difficult for U19 players to complete their league game schedule.
However, the Lake Highlands Girls Classic League failed to update our rules after making this decision. We recognize that teams may have had expectations of playing more games when they registered for the league. With that in mind, we will give the members of the U19 Division I and Division II teams the opportunity to play an expanded schedule (16 games for Division I, 18 games for Division II).
We will hold a meeting at the North Dallas Chamber office Sunday evening at 7pm, where a vote will be held to decide whether the game schedule will be expanded for U19 Division I and Division II. Due to the nature of scheduling games, the vote to expand the game schedule must be unanimous. We will allow voting by proxy up to 48 hours prior to the meeting time. Only votes from coaches will be accepted. A no show or failure to place a proxy vote will be counted as a "no change" vote.
If the schedule is expanded, please be aware of the following:
Your teams will be required to pay the full league fee of $1800 (an additional $800 per team)
Your teams will be responsible for additional referee fees of $85 per game
To accommodate these additional unplanned games, your teams will play more weeknight and Sunday games.
You will be required to play more games in the Spring
The league will enforce the forfeit rule and subsequent fines

You had to buy new uniforms? That sucks. Our club gives the option as to whether or not they want to buy them. Obviously, that answer is "HELL NO".

I took Mr. T's response to mean that they had decided on a full schedule, not that they were spreading a shortened season out over spring and fall. If they have been back and forth, they need to settle it at the beginning of the season so everyone can plan.

My guess is that they will post the three spring games sometime in February (or whenever they post the rest of the spring schedules.)
The six fall games will be all there are.
I dont know what happenned in the big Sunday meeting, but it seems unlikely that every team will agree to the 18 game schedule.

Why do the coaches even have a vote? Why not ask the players. Just another indication that the league is run by the clubs for benefit of the clubs, not for the players.
Who cares about showcases their Senior year, all but the crying is over by then.

We ( D1 ) have nine games, no new uniforms , and knew by looking at last years schedule that it would be a "play each team once" deal. With school soccer and a few tournaments there is still plenty of soccer for us as well as homecoming dance, prom etc.
I had no idea D3 would be the way it ended up.

Pitchmon wrote:I'm talking about DII we were promised by lhgcl on their web site on 7-1 a full season, so club charged full season just like younger girls. Coincidence? Did anyone else pay same fees as younger teams?
Our club separates club dues from league and tournament fees. We did pay the same club dues as the younger teams ( approx. same number of practices and actual games when tournaments are counted ) but our league fees were slightly less ( $500/17 players )
