TFC Blue Cup

28 teams applied ... 21 accepted so far. How will the tourney organizers handle such a large field? Would there be
Gold/Silver/Bronze brackets?

Which teams in Gold? A few I'm not familiar with.

Applied teams now up to 30 with the addition of Fever and Cosmos.

What do we know about Lubbock Arsenal? If I recall correctly, there is at least 1 very strong Lubbock club ... Is this the strong one and if so I assume that it is also the one that has the forward that guests with Fever on occasion?

That's Lubbock Cruz Azul.
According to gotsoccer results this other Lubbock team may be in the Silver division.
27 of those 30 teams have been accepted. Fever and Cosmos are in what can be described as a 'holding pattern'.

Wow, this is shaping up to be the 03 tournament of the year. Wonder if Mendoza, SRSA and DTS will jump in and represent?

Hopefully TFC gives it appropriate attention...

Semi-finals only ... Only bracket winners advance. Probably more due to the number of teams causing a schedule congestion than anything else.

I guess we get to see how well little sister RASE does against big sister Dalglish.

My take. Not only does this spread the clubs out, it's more in line with the current FBR

FCD is in the White division not sure what is going on with that or much of the rest of the schedules.

Predator was somehow placed in the other division under the name used when we first moved from Juventus..... FCDallas Black. Not sure why or how that happened but we've asked to be moved to the appropriate division.

I suppose that settles it. No need to discuss/analyze until the actual schedules are published. Unless it was a simple mistake and they meant to have FCD in Blue Bracket D also - you know, just to balance it out.

Agreed some brackets are screwy, but I think even worse are the fields. They got some teams playing on smaller fields than others. Example RR#6, McInnish D&E, Lake Park #4 are all SMALL fields for 11v11 games. While other fields like Lake Park 1&2 and RR#1-5 are the larger normal sized our girls are used to playing. The smaller fields are designed for 9v9 not 11v11. Hope they figure this out before the schedule is final.

Probably one of the worst schedules I've seen in a while!

Just FYI, he directed the last tournament we were involved in (DT), and all the schedules changed again on Tuesday week of. It made a significant difference. It didn't play well for us at all (9 pm game Friday, then an 8 am Saturday), but what you saw 10 days out was MUCH different than 4-5 days out-that includes brackets and schedules.

My two cents is that it is yet to be finalized-that can be good or bad Wink

Times are fine with me, but he has all LW teams in the same Blue bracket. IF 04 Dalglish wins their bracket, and 03 Dalglish or RASE 04 wins theirs (potentially knocking one team out) they play 04 Dalglish in semi. Alot of IFs but it doesnt make mucy sense to me. With 20 teams in the division you would think there would be a better way. LW could essentially play himself 3 times! We could do that for free!

We said the same thing when 3 DT teams were in one bracket 10 days out...Then she schedule changed to where instead of playing 3 out of town teams like we had initially been scheduled for, it became a FCD team, a team we play in league and a DT team...(all these teams were teams we could call up any day and schedule a game with...and it wouldn't have cost $600)...needless to say, we were frustrated. The re-scheduled 9pm, 8am turnaround just added insult.

Again, I bet it will change, just may not be as you hope...and pointing out the negatives calmly and reasonably will do nothing.

I am going to have a real problem if it is above 70 degrees or below 50 degrees or the ball is not white with black accents with proper psi. or the ref is wearing a green shirt instead of a yellow one. Big problems if the wind is above 9 knots & the fields are not laid out N/S instead of E/W, I do not want my DD having to play with sun in her face. If the officials are below 20 years of age or over 40, if my "expectations are not met the TD will "rue the day!"

People pay good money and expect for the Brackets to be fair. These Brackets are not, it's been done poorly, that's why people are unhappy. All the TD has to do is look at the Rankings on this forum and go from there.
