Hi Dood, I like your idea of the champion play. It would be a fairer way to do it - with only one D1 slot available. Gives all an equal chance to move up.cheers

Agree with your thoughts. I checked and it's $355 including referee fees. If a team does not play in PPL and no bye then they are automatically placed in D3. It's a cheap tournament although only 3 games. Might as well play in the tournament for the experience and team evaluation.

10-10-10 is great but having only 1 spot to earn into D1 is a little harsh. Too much left to chance with only 1 opening and no head to head play from the four #1 seeds. A tournament with playoffs and a champion would be more realistic and more exciting for the teams.
That is very true, and I suspect almost everyone involved will either go IN thinking that or come OUT thinking that. In a season or two it won't matter, but the format change is going to have some bumps. I think that a bunch of those teams are very close to each other in talent, so it will make for some very competitive games...of course if you are better than everyone else, just win!

I also agree that a championship bracket would have solved it on the field.

Ok, I blame it on the Channel 11 Weather guy! He keeps calling for all those high temperatures and lo and behold, there they are! Neutral
..easy now...you lot are getting out of hand. Laughing ..fact is the biggest detriment to playing in PPL is Russell Creek.....did it for years in a former life.... If a team is trying to play the 'right way'...pass the ball to someone wearing the same colored shirt, keep possession, actually trying to play soccer.. etc ..then playing in that wind tunnel is just soul destroying.

Seems to me that  controled passes on the ground and trying to maintain possesion of the ball is the best way to off-set the wind. Your "soul destroying" comment apears to run counter to your argument.

..this is a joke right..?? Barcelona couldn't play in that mess....rock hard field, wind blowing like all get out..?? and you expect 14 year old girls to keep possession..?? get a grip.

Maybe you should try indoor...as long as the AC is not turned up to high you should be good to go.

I don't know about Xtreme Soccerdood. Almost all of their good players moved to Solar Silver and currently their team is mostly 01s playing up.

Agree, that would probably take them out of the running.

Rumor has it a new team named inter stars united appears to have some hidden talent. Apparently, they have recruited 4 players from Sting Ferretti and 4 from Liverpool. In a recent scrimmage beat a LH D3 team. This may be the one to watch.

So what exactly is so different about this weather vortex called Russell Creek? I am pretty sure the wind blows pretty hard at Rail Road as well. The fields at UTD were suffering from overuse last season, Chin Chappell might as well be in Oklahoma. You have to pay to park at FCD. You  see you can find reasons to gripe about all of the facilities in N TX. Next we will hear something about the grass being too long and slowing down the game.

Good for Robin! She works hard and is great with the girls. Which LP team did she get girls from? That will be a tough group!

Is this their 99 team? If so, and the scrimmage was recent, the scrimmage ended 0-0. Very Happy

Can someone tell me which teams aren't playing in the placement tournament and are just going to the lowest division?
