Only one real bracket is up for debate on who the winner will be. FCD Premier or LP Rush. The other four brackets should be a cakewalk. I suppose the three wildcard spots are open for debate.

Sting Hilton does not have a cakewalk, or should one say that the Lonestar team might have something to say about that... But it is nice to play teams from outside of NTX.

Historically, teams that jump up to 11 v 11 after playing 8 v 8 on a regular basis do not perform well. Hilton has a pretty strong possesion style team. I think the larger field will hinder the Austin team and Hilton's style will expose that pretty easily.

Sting Goodman has beat that Lonestar team in Austin on two occasions playing 8v8 in their backyard. Hilton will have no problem.

JSullivan and Brucrew - thank you for the confidence. I hope we handle each team in our bracket and make it to the knockout stages.

I do remember my older dd's team playing a Lonestar team at Texas Cup several years ago and it seemed as though they brought two 8v8 teams and they subbed out the whole team when they made subs as oppose to piecemeal or even one or two subs. I am sure that this Lonestar team should not be taken lightly. Oh, btw, that 00 Lonestar team is now in 1st place in the Texas Conference ECNL (yes, I am sure that have made lots of changes since U11 and it is different age group can make a big difference)

Lone star will be lucky if they get by sting north. I would worry about the Tulsa team more so than Austin...

1) as I said before, not having a silver bracket is
is a mistake
2) running up the score on a bronze level team is bush league IMO

2nd is did srsa sign up just to pass the ball back and forth for 50 minutes? dont sign up for tournaments if you cant handle the heat...

Exactly.  

18 is a bit much. I'm all for playing hard from whistle to whistle, as well as letting backups play their heart out, but I'm sure even SRSA's backups get ample minutes. 18 isn't beating another team, it's demoralizing them. Geez

Ah, the age-old argument. How many goals is OK before it becomes demoralizing?  

Well in situations like this the playing keep away is just as demorlizing to the other teams as the same as playing it out and keep running up the score...

Ive been in both spectrum of this and playing keep away ive seen girls just flat stop playing cause there exhausted from chasing and even more embarrassed from chasing them all around.

Its not Solar fault they should have made 2 divisions,it is what it is. It's a no win for any coach and personally i would have let them knock it around a bit and if it was easy for my girls to make a run in and score then so be it.

It's a Sting tourney....the club essentially requires them to participate..then throws them to the lions

I didn't realize it was a Sting Tournament - no wonder the brackets were set the way they were. . .

So question on scoring...they clip the max number of "Goals For" at 5 per game if you shut the other team out? Looking on the other side, it looks like Goals Against can be the true score? That doesn't make much sense to me. Anyone ever see this kind of Goals For scoring before?

FCD Premier scored 7, they show 6
Hilton scored 9, they show 7
SRSA scored 26, they show 10

Max goals for a game, I think is capped at five, for the tie breaker.
