I for one was going to vote for Lubbock Cruz Azul to win Gold this year. Very disappointed to see they aren't coming.

When do you think we will see the flights and/or schedules

Probably the Tuesday or Wednesday before the tournament starts, that's pretty much the norm for most tournaments.

That was a few weeks ago though, so maybe someone could confirm so we don't have to rely on my short-term memory.

GrandTX, come on now. I thought we were going to get along. I even make a point to only mock out of town teams these days

Choices were least competitive, competitive, most competitive. If it goes like last year you will see some lhgc teams playing silver.

docs on the site say
"Typically there are one to three Flights (Gold, Silver A, and Silver B) per Age Group depending on the
number of teams accepted in each Age Group. In the application process, you will be
asked to request which flight your team wishes to play in; and if reasonable and within
tournament constraints, we attempt to assign your team to your requested flight."

Brackets out. Seems to lack the punch as years past. Thoughts? I'm not sure what happened with the seeding. I thought at first bracket #1 seemed unusually heavy compared to the likes of bracket #4- but the way the quarterfinals are played out, I can't imagine bracket #1 complaining much. Any surprises?

Bracket 4 has two team with no business in the Gold Division and bracket 1 is a little top heavy but if Sting Hilton is still banged up, then that looks about right

If you look it up....CVS Red has a Oklahoma got soccer ranking of 4...
But that number is more indicative of their avg goals allowed  

But in their defense, they have been playing mostly 8v8

These schedules are not set are they? There are some teams in the Silver A bracket that could switch with a couple from Gold. I haven't seen NTFC black play or CVFC play, so I could be wrong. I saw an Arkansas #1 team and Oklahoma #8 team in the Silver A bracket. Of course those are based on GotSoccer rankings, which can be off the wall at times.

What strikes me is the OFC team (probably #2 in OK...got soccer has them #1) playing Silver A Blue

Brackets 3 and 4 are both light in comparison to 1 and 2. For reference, that CVFC team lost like 5-0 to both FCD Premier and DT 03 in Oklahoma.

Are the teams assigned by the tournament or are they allows to choose the division of their choice?

Agree with everything said. The easy answer is to swap OFC for CVFC. No offense to CVFC, but they've been hiding in an 8v8 bracket and have not been playing the stronger 03' Oklahoma teams. Their ranking is not indicative of their soccer right now.

OFC is the clear cut #2 team in Oklahoma. They lost three games in the State last year, and all three were to Amos. I suspect they would handle NYSA and CVFC with ease.

As for bracket 3 being light, Fever just tied Elite and Amos has beaten some Dallas teams - so I don't think that bracket is a pushover. Naturally your top two brackets will look stronger because they have the top 2 seeds in them.

Is it possible we are complaining just because the pool isn't as deep this year? Last year there were several very good teams that couldn't even make it to the quartfinals.

Clearly there are two team in gold bracket that don't belong. Per got soccer rankings:
- NYSA is ranked 30th in region 3
- NTFC is ranked 50th in region 3

There are two teams in silver A and B that should replace NYSA and NTFC based on regional ranking and recent strength of teams played and there outcomes.
- OFC is ranked 10th in region 3
- Sparta is ranked 18th in region 3

Considering the recent strength of teams played and there outcomes, the competitive strength of these teams becomes much clearer. As jamestren mentioned OFC is clear #2 team in OK and Sparta has tied Cosmos-black, Fever-black and LP-barnes and beat FWFC-black in last 3 tournaments played.

Hopefully tournament directors recognize mis-matches and strengthen brackets accordingly.
