What part of the statement on the LHGCL web site are you basing that off of?

The Q&A suggests that they will add 1 or 2 teams (that are no longer mathematically "alive" for promotion) to make the numbers work, so that the teams will play each other once. I think 15 in each Division is a pretty good guess. But I am just guessing also.

You could be right, but the part that you put into parenthesis is not included in the statement, and if true, would really open LH up to significant criticism because now what criteria are they using to determine which teams are the final teams in D1?

...but then again, LH has made it a habit in the past couple of years of doing things that I thought or predicted would never happen so it probably means that they will split D1/D2 50/50.

I think the part in parentheses really is in the statement, but not in an obvious way. It says "this meant adding 1-2 teams to achieve that goal". What else could "adding" mean here? I don't think it is referring to adding teams that still would have a mathematical chance for promotion; otherwise, they would not have needed to add statement #2. It took me reading this a few times (or more...) to reach this conclusion. We'll find out soon I suppose.

I got nuthin for ya'!  You'd think that one of these days I'd finally learn my lesson and stop trying to interpret and or predict what LHGCL will do on anything.

I'm not normally one to think in conspiracy tones,  but trying to do my best Tom Clancy interpretation of the results, I think the big clubs Texans and D'Feeters did a little bargaining to get the results that are posted.    Mathematically, FW Black was the last team which had an opportuntiy to promote had they won out their three remaining games and all the teams above them lost every remaining game.  D'Feeters needed a D1 Presence, and I believe Texans run the board.  Had LH wanted to have a little more exclusivity to D1 in our age group it made sense to stop at 12 teams, but then there would be 17 in D2.  So, then they probably need to balance out the divisions and maybe should of could of stopped at 13 with 16 in D2, but then D'feeters would be on the outside and it still looks unbalanced.  So get to D'Feeters and stop, making D1 14 teams would have been reasonable, but then that last Texan team is sitting there, just begging to be taken also.  So, 15 it is.   Note: at the time of my conspiracy theory D'feeters was behind Kicks in the standings,  now I see that they have flipped positions.  So as with most conspiracies, my thoughts are based on faulty logic and facts, and I was not the near the grassy knoll during the board meeting.  Conspiracy theory off.

While there are many benefits and cons to the result, one thing that may be a by-product is that players/families who may have been hesitant to leave a team because their other options were not in D1 may now have more options and be willing to reset to that dream team they always wanted to go to.   So Lake Highlands becomes the Nordstroms of soccer in customer service...

The QT to the right says they would have been in QT had the season finished and the standings remained the same. The "QT" has been deleted. But the descriptor "regulated" is not next to their team name meaning they have not been regulated. They are in D2 next year.

LH fixed the spreadsheet. Andro Blue is in, 3 openings for QT.

There looks to be a few match ups in D1 and D2 that will have the potential to be "blow outs", but it will still be competitive soccer for 85% of the games.

There is no need to speculate on next year's promotion & relegation thresholds. We will have another wet spring and LH, in an attempt to keep everyone happy, will have all teams play in D1 for the U16 season!

Given that the LHGCL by-laws had D1 transitioning from 9 teams this year to 8 for next year (pre-monsoon), there are legitimate concerns that the expansion to 15 teams could create significant team talent polarity.

The fact that this year's 9th place D1 team yielded 4.5 times more goals than they scored indicates a real need for roster upgrades with ~40% of the new D1 teams.

And where is that going to originate?
