2015/2016 Preliminary Bye and Divisions

Has been posted now. This is a strange turn of events. DI and DII only...

It appears that the mathematical approach was not used in all cases???

Did they use any mathematical approach?  Am I reading this correctly?  Liverpool Keegan stays in D1?  They just kept everyone in D1 and moved up the top 5 in D2.

Agree. Teams are artificially elevated, just to be relegated next year. Teams that deserved relegation avoid it. That is not necessarily a good thing. FC, Sting, Texans and even Elite are all loading up on talent in preparation for ECNL fall 16. Keagan as an example, was probably looking forward to playing teams more to their kid's talent level. They get to go through another year like this one and are probably going to lose some of the starters they have.

Further, 14 games vs the 16 that D1 would have played or 18 that D's 2 and 3 would have played seems a cop out. Why couldn't the same number of games be played? Fairness? This effort at fairness assuages the angst of the handful of teams that had a chance at avoiding relegation or of advancing at the expense of the rest of the teams in the league who's only recompense is fewer games for what I'm going to assume will be the same price.

The good news, however, is that we will see lower league fees due to fewer games.

Totally agree. I know there is no real other perfect solution, but some teams EARNED the bump up to DI and DII while some teams needed to be bumped down to DII and DIII to play teams more along their skill level. No one likes a 4-0, 5-0, 6-0 beating game after game.

Yes, and then the clubs will pass these savings along to the families.

Regarding Keegan, are they going to make it? I didn't see them looking for players, and the last few times we played them they had a thin bench. I would think with the roster size increasing and an already thin bench they would be looking for players?

If Keegan folds, then I guess one less team would have to go through QT and one more team will find their way from D2 into D1

I think the club keeps the bye and LIverpool can put whatever team they to fill the spot. Someone correct me.

Correct, but LHGCL modified their rule recently to state that if the roster that is claiming the bye has <50% players returning from the previous year's roster, the LHGCL Board will determine which division the team claiming the bye will be placed in.

So, it's not cut-n-dry that if Keegan folded, LP would just be allowed to move Barnes up into Keegan's D1 spot, and then an LP PPL/APL team up into Barnes D2 spot. The board could rule that based on the rosters LP submits, both teams will be placed in D2 for next year. Normally, if this were to happen, the next team in the standings that didn't originally get a D1 bye, would be awarded a D1 bye (in this case, it would be D'Feeters). However, given the odd circumstances from this past Spring, the board could also decide to go with a 14/16 D1/D2 split next year instead of 15/15.

Bottom line, it will be a wait-and-see.

Keegan isn't folding, has posted open practices and has already added talent.

And, to be frank, there are some who - at this point - are pretty tired of the drama. Be it from other parents or non-communicative coaches. There are going to be some good soccer players who are facing sitting the bench on an ECNL team (at a huge cost and not developing) who could be real difference makers on a D1 team. So, if you are in that category - perhaps your daughter is skilled but a little late to the maturity table - Schindler and the environment he provides is a real alternative.

Who is now at Mutiny BTW so who knows what will happen there

Really!!! There is no drama at LP Keagan Mutany from the parents side(lines).  

Wondering if the wait and see time period over to understand if any teams folding have moved teams up a division. Anyone in the know?
