05 LH Week 4 Observations

This weekend should present some interesting matches and answer some interesting questions...here are my Top 5:

1.  Will Mustangs v. Scarfone set the LH all-time record for most fouls in a game?

2.  Will Sting Garrett show up with the team that drew against LP Elite or the one that drew against Andro Haylock?

3.  Will Rush stay white hot or will Diaz bounce back after a sluggish start to their season?

4.  Which of the Andromedas will occupy the basement after this week's intraclub match?

5.  Will Solar Red score more than 4 goals against FWFC White?

FWFC looked good and organized against STING DALLAS BLUE SCARFONE. I think they're finally adjusting to the speed of play. FWFC 1 v 2 Solar Red. STING DALLAS BLUE SCARFONE V MUSTANGS, should be a good physical  match  Sting 3 v 3 Mustangs. Andromeda Red 4 v 4 Andromeda Red West.  Rush will slow down against Sting Rush 1 v 2 Sting.

A big disappointment as they were a Dribble under their previous coach."

"Dallas Rush are great athletes but lackluster coaching is holding this group back. Sadly I don't think the parents see it"

Exact same players. Same "lackluster" coach.

Does anybody know the score of Liverpool Elite and Solar Chelsea East. It isn't posted yet.

Final score was 3-0. I heard Chelsea East Coach forfeited the game with about 3 min left in the game. Apparently, she was upset with the Refs calls and told her team to walk off the field.

That is a pretty dumb post by "Guest" and took serious "courage".  Dallas Rush deserves some credit and is probably the hottest team in DI right now.  Two of their last three games were wins against what used to be the top 2 teams in the '05 group.

It's very very sad to see some of the negative post on this site about coaches. I think parents generally have no idea how much effort, patients, focus, knowledge, and dedication it takes to coach kids at this age, or any age for that matter. I know every coach in Lake Highlands, some better than others, and I have the utmost respect for ALL of them especially the Dallas Rush coach. So parents take this negative mindset/outlook on coaches in our profession with a bit more understanding and compassion, as your coaches do with the precious daughters you've entrusted them with.

That's just it though. There has been nothing said about this other topic at all. Something that would usually garner a 3 pg thread, cause hysteria, internal implosions, and a few snide comments from Sho. No offense.

Score with 3-4 minutes left was 1-0 LP.

LH rules Section 8 subsection D says a forfeit score is 1-0.

None taken. From my short time here, I speculate that if this group was still 'Lady Aztecs', it would generate more forum buzz. I don't really know why.

LHGCL Rules:

Any team that forfeits any games during a season may, at the option of the team’s Age Division Commissioner and/or the LHGCL Executive Board, be immediately dropped from the League and shall be required to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the League’s Executive Board, its ability to field a complete team at each scheduled game before it will be readmitted to the League. In addition, any team that forfeits a game must pay a $250 fine plus 100% of the applicable referee fees.

The team, coach, assistant coach, or manager of any team that forfeits any games during a soccer year may be subject to additional sanctions as determined by the LHGCL Executive Board, including, but not limited to suspension from participation in the league.

*** The game will be scored as a one (1) goal to zero (0) goals win in favor of the non-forfeiting team. ***

I take it there will be a fine(s) for the forfeit.

Maybe it was stated earlier, but what call caused them to "walk off the field"?

Maybe frustration on multiple calls.

But I heard the call was a free kick top of the box which LP encroached before whistle was blown, solar hit the cross bar from the shot and ball was cleared. Solar coach was upset that the free kick was not allowed to be taken again and subsequently removed her team from the field of play.

I suppose there are situations where I would support a coach who walked his/her team off the field (would probably have to be a dangerous/at risk situation).

Anybody willing to post who was actually there and can confirm this actually happened?

Wait. Wait. Wait!!!! You are telling me that if a team is beating another 3-0 and the other team decided to walk off then the score is changed to 1-0. That's crap. Let's reward the sore losers. If you have an issue that is not of a risk or dangerous nature then you should finish the game and take the issue up with officials afterward. Rant over.

I believe this is the rule that applies.

Abandonments:
a. Abandonments are defined as games ended short of completion by either a
referee or LHGCL Official for misbehavior or misconduct by any party. If a game is properly abandoned, the offending team (to be determined at
the sole discretion of LHGCL) will receive 0 (zero) goals regardless of score. The non-offending team will receive one goal if they have not scored or number of goals scored whichever is greater.
b. The penalty for abandoned game for the offending team is a $500 (five hundred dollar) fine ( cash or money order only) and 1 (one) point deduction from standing points. The team will not be able to play until the fine is received by the league. League decision is final.

Maybe not such a well thought out decision.
