Two divisions? Empty Two divisions?

Post by donovansucks 17/08/16, 07:36 am

Ok, I need some help. I attended the LHGCL meeting last night and there was no mention of division realignment. It appears (I may be wrong) that there are only two divisions for most age groups. For the 00's, we only have D1 and D2. This is different (I think) than what we have been told or what has been presented (on the LHGCL website). Did I miss the email notifying us of this change? Or, is there no change at all and we will have a D1, D2 and a D3?

Please help. Thanks.

pretty sure what they posted was preliminary and subject to change if it was done before signings or registration deadlines...............................................teams and clubs probably didnt know what they had or best way to manage and finalize their byes until middle or end of july

Everything they post is preliminary and subject to change at any time......because of this.

Compliance with Bylaws and Rules.
All persons involved in any capacity with a team playing in LHGCL have requested to participate in LHGCL, and by such request have agreed to abide by all Bylaws, Rules, and policies (whether written or unwritten) of LHGCL.

UNWRITTEN BYLAWS, RULES AND POLICIES

I agree with both of you...we are definitely at the mercy of LHGCL. I am just a bit surprised it was not mentioned last night at the meeting. Guess I shouldn't be surprised.

JDL and Composite were not addressed. A JDL question was asked during the meeting and the response was this is a LHGCL meeting.

But seriously . . . how much faith can you put in an organization whose home page still advertises that the 2015 season kicks off 8/29?

oh yea, and apparently the UTD fields are still striped pink

Yep, now you are learning (The hard way)why some of us have issues with endorsing such a league and are glad we have not had to deal with it for the last two years or ever again.

So basically . . .

what was . . . D1
is now . . . ECNL / JDL / composite

what was . . . D2
is now . . . D1

what was . . . D3 + 1/2 PPL
is now . . . D2/3 combined

Also heard this year they are giving participation trophies and will not be keeping score in any divisions (too many coaches afraid they will be adversely evaluated based on wins and losses).

Games will run on weekends 6am to 10pm and weekdays 4pm to 10pm due to the increase in teams.  Refs will be limited to those willing to work more hours for less pay.

No promotion / relegation - if you have a bye, you keep it.  The philosophy of "the bye stays with the club, even if no players remain on the team" was a huge success.  If not, play-in games next season will allow for 10 more teams per age group.

Next year, they will go back to three divisions.  The new D3 will allow rec teams - lack of ability should not prevent anyone who wants to play in LHGCL from being given that opportunity.

Finally, all CPP rules will be eliminated.  After all, what's the point?  Players only on an ECNL / JDL / Composite roster are not likely rostered on a LHGCL team (or a NTSSA team) and would be free agents to play as guests on any team.  No different than the unlimited ability to play in PPL and LH games on the same day.

LHGCL is one of the poorest run organizations I have had occasion to observe. I agree with the sentiment expressed here.
