Whats the word on Solar/FCD/Texans DA vs ECNL

Are Solar, Texans and FCD staying in ECNL for next season?  Will those players that choose ECNL head to an ECNL only club like Sting?  Can clubs truly support both leagues at a high level?

Can Texans fill out a DA roster?

Can Solar? They have to borrow from other states just to compete in Chicago this weekend

Maybe for the older teams who have players already committing and already playing HS soccer, DA would not make sense. From what I've seen though at the 03 level, DA is cleaning house.

The 04 and 05 houses appear dirty.  And it is a head scratcher.  

All the clubs mentioned have full DA and ECNL rosters.

Well if for no other reason than there already exists a preliminary schedule for DA league games, it is already monumentally better than ECNLA/JDL/LH or any other alphabet league.

...and yet Texans and FCD are conducting open tryouts until June 13th and the 8th respectively. Imagine the surprise on little Suzie's face when she hears "Honey, you didn't quite make the DA or ECNL squad but we have the perfect fit for you on our FCD Orange squad. Welcome to the club".

Could it be that instead of coaches solidifying rosters they're still playing the "Let's wait to see what's around the corner" thing too much?

Clubs are required ro have so many DA tryout dates per their guidelines. Most likely the teams are picked already.

Which way are the top players going?  70/30 DA/ECNL or?

I think you need to differentiate between age groups. Very different answers.

Sorry.. my comments had nothing to do with 03s. I was referring to other age groups. I know nothing about the '03s as my soccer world is rotating around 2 other age groups with my DDs. My apology for any confusion or drama I may have caused.

Will the DA/ECNL/TCL clubs be playing their DA/ECNL/TCL teams in Lake Highlands as well?  If not, wouldn't that mean that Lake Highlands will consist of these clubs' third or fourth best teams?

DA players are dedicated to DA teams and aren't allowed to play on other teams or in other sports (including school sports).

ECNL, TCL and JDL players can dual roster onto LH as well as PPIL teams. Players that may not get enough playing time on ECNL, TCL or JDL can gain that PT in these other leagues.

If not, then what would prevent the club from playing players in both games on any given Saturday? If those players are rostered on an LH team (in addition to an ECNL/TCL team), they would not even be bound by LH's Club Pass Player rules (e.g., only one CPP can be on Game Day Roster).

There are no rules to prevent it, but for ECNL and LHGCL, logistics generally prevent it from happening. TCL is a different story, as TCL is like Premier League, where LHGCL teams are invited to play in TCL in addition to LHGCL, based on prior year finish in LHGCL. So you absolutely will see entire teams play in both TCL and LHGCL, and the leagues will schedule around each other, but never on the same day.

ECNL and LHGCL do not, and will not, coordinate their schedules around each other, so none of the clubs will take the chance of running afoul of either league by putting themselves in a roster position where they may end up having to forfeit a game due to a scheduling conflict. LHGCL still has strict max roster size rules of 18 at U13/U14 and 22 for U15 and above, so while you can and will see several players dual rostered, it will not be entire teams.

Also, at least some of the ECNL clubs have unwritten policies that ECNL players will not play in more than 1 game on a given day, which the coaches stick to strongly.

So, will you see ECNL players playing in LH games? Absolutely. Always have and always will. Will you see an ECNL "team" essentially playing both ECNL and LH? No.




p.s. By the way, I used to complain when teams brought in guest players from stronger teams to play against my DD. One time when I was complaining about it on the car ride home, my DD said, "Dad... shut up already! How am I supposed to get any better if I don't play against better players?". I've never complained since... She was 12 when she told me that...
