Looking for some feedback from parents and coaches. Would you value coaches feedback of your player more if video supported their assessment?

So, your asking the coach to do more work! Video is great but each player on the field has to be broken down and then graded. Unless you want to charge the parents more money for a independent to break the film down.

No doubt!  There isn't much more valuable to a player's tactical/soccer IQ development than watching footage of themselves in action.  And Hudl Technique is a fantastic tool for breaking down the technical aspects of the game, especially in a training environment --

Have you done any research on what a Hudl account cost is for a year? Sticker shock!

It's not cheap.  Because we split with the team we spent ~$115 for the year I think.  Great stuff for self evaluation and highlight videos since editing software is built in.  And the Hudl Technique app is either free or a couple bucks ... can't remember.

When you see all the coaches moving around getting fired or being investigated for criminal activity the only development per se is what they see in their bank account.

It depends on how it's funded. But when you have a roster of 16 players it's only about ~$25/player for a year subscription.

And to add to your comment, it's great for self evaluation. Allowing the players to take their development into their own hands.
In my opinion it does not to create more work for the coaches, but to allows there to be less bias when there is video. Some clubs even use video as a training session, as it's equally important to be able to see what worked and what didn't in real life situations, not on FIFA or in a professional game.

Most frequently used tools for assessing how developed a player is in NTX are:
. Birthdate
. Speed
. Height
. Weight

I'd (sorry Goose ... We'd) love to hear your explanation as to how a "parent's net worth" has anything to do with player development assessment and placement.

Be careful what you ask for.

Seen more then a couple cases over the years where a marginal player is placed on a team they can not contribute to, in a competitive game, and their parents scholarship a key player. Sometimes the key player is an existing one, or in some cases a new player the team.

Usually does not work out well in the long run, but it does not stop coaches trying to climb the ladder from trying it.

Gotcha Lefty --

But seems there may be some confusion regarding what you think I was "asking" for ...

Agreed that this might happen sporadically here and there.  Might've even happened at one of your kid's teams over the years, but I can attest that it doesn't happen all that often (if at all) at the highest levels.  Those coaches tend to play players that win them championships (maybe due to the lack of rungs left in the ladder?) ... But what do I know?

The assessing I see is coaches poaching players from other teams to keep their income stable. A prime example of this is at FCD where coaches are consistently back stabbing one another while shaking hands face to face.

So funny this was mentioned. There was a certain group of coaches that offered a camp/trainings where the kids would get evaluated and the coaches would tell the parents things good at and things they needed to work on..ask those parents if they ever got anything? Fraud and beyond that stealing money. What licensing does coach have? How they are qualified to evaluate? Scamming people....

No place is it written that a coach has to be liscensed to work at a camp and give feedback on what a player could work on to improve their game. Posters on his board have become very good at wording post to pull parents in. If you feel you were done wrong then don’t return spend your money elsewhere.

In steps using video to hold them accountable. A coach having a license doesn't mean they are a good coach. The US Licensing system is expensive. On the flip side, someone that is able to invest in their coaching education or finds ways to continue their coaching education says a lot about that coach.
