King Tut

Big signup for '09 in the Tut. Be interesting to see how they set up flights/sections. I understand everyone turns in record and makes suggestion as to where they belong.

Agree, looking forward to seeing the groups and schedules. TUT results should provide the best insight into how the final qualifying tournament seeding may play out. Would be great to see schedules today, but I haven't heard anything about expected timing.

Is King Tut seeded similar to the qualifier or is it more like divisions of gold, silver, bronze, etc.?

King Tut will be 5 groups of 8 more than likely, Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze groups. The three auto qualifiers are already pushed into the 08 division so there are an even 40 teams.

LHQT1 will be 10-13 groups of 4, the top seed after a three game round robin will qualify for D1 the first weekend. Then the remaining teams will go into QT2 and try for the remaining spots in D1 and D3.

It will be interesting to see how many teams there are for the qualifier. There were 52 last year...I think 2009s will have more than the 08s.

If there are 40 teams, I would think there will be 8 groups of 5 teams. This is because the tourney rules indicate that all teams will play 4 games, and there will be no semis or finals.

I did expect 8 groups of 5 teams for 4 game round-robins, but this format with crossovers looks good, too. There were only a few placements that were a little unexpected, but definitely seems it’s set up as a great tune up for qualifying. Gonna be a hot few weekends coming up!

Surprised there are only 44. I thought there would be more too.

Not many teams in any age group some dont even have to play and they are in. Do they play themselves.

Does Texas Salsa have a new name? Did not see them on Girls Classic list.

Yes, Texans teams drop the coach's name from team names when they go select. Looks like FCD 09 teams did the same.

FYI, Last year, I took the 52 teams for 2008 and snaked them back and forth from teams 1 to 52 giving the 13 groups of 4. I took this directly from the FBR prior to King Tut. 

When the groups came out on LHGCL website, It was nearly exact. Maybe 2-4 teams that were off by a slot or two (often to prevent two from same club) in the first round. Those 13 group winners weekend 1 qualified. Then the next weekend for the rest of the teams.

But if you are curious you pool, I'd assume 4 per group and just snake them back and forth and you will be about right as who will be in your group. At least last year.
