Sting 96 has a real shot at pulling this thing off.

in editing my statement above.....I have no idea which Sting they are sending. They change names every year. If it is by some chance their top Sting team warming up for Phoenix, they will win it all, I think.

This is the former Andro team that won D-III.

Format is 4 game friendlies. Several teams could win it all. Very Happy

Great scheduling! US Women in the final for first time in 12 years and my DD will be playing a meaningless friendly at the same time. She won’t get to witness possibly women’s soccer’s finest moment in this country in 12 years live. Thanks FC Dallas! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Anything can happen in Soccer but it seems a bit odd that a 95 team that played in the State Cup Semis is scheduled against a 96 Arlington Team as their first match. confused

Not sure if you have heard, but they put this little league together called the ECNL. :-) FCD put a team together in that and also maintained their LHGCL bye. My educated guess is you won't be seeing the same team that advanced in State Cup.

96 Sting is fka Sting Royal.
The new 96 Sting Royal used to be an Andromeda Team. Coach - Bruno Ferretti. They ended last season #1 D3 and will be playing this coming season in D2.

96 FC Youth Black were #3 in D3 and will be playing this coming season in D2. Coach Tim Spiars.

The Strikers are a scrappy team that should never be underestimated but heard, yet again, some of their top players from last season have left? But, I think we hear this every year and every year, they come up fighting.

I see how I have caused confusion.

Now I'm confused. I know, not unusual. FCD didn't even have a team in State Cup as far as I know. Semis were Sting vs North Texas Strikers and Texans vs Feet.

My comment was in regards to Strikers 95 vs Polaris 96.

Polaris played in the '95 division in Arlington and finished 4th. At least on the surface, they would seem better equipped for playing the 95s than the teams in the silver division.

The results say 0-0 but my information has it that FCD 95 and Polaris 96 both agreed not to play their final game and go home to watch the World Cup game.

You are correct that both teams decided they wanted
to watch the game instead. Caught the game with a crowd of soccer fans at SMU. Does make it a lot more exciting watching the game in a crowd although man, what a let down. You could feel it coming too when the team let up and appeared to be trying to run out the clock just a little too early.

Strikers were on fire this weekend. Looked very solid.
