Ok, just heard from Manager that SDL has been moved back to the 9th.

I appreciate people looking out for our DD's but this is only one game a day in expected temps of 100 deg.the first weekend. Come November will we be canceling because it is too cold? Let's get on with it already!
Okay, commence with the beating.

Okay, commence with the beating.
Pros to delay: 1) Cooler? See above Justsayin02's comment. 2) Unexpected free Saturday on 8/27. 3) Kids are not as tired from getting adjusted to going back to school...(biggie for me, my kids are bears the first 2 weeks of school). 4) SDL has more time to get schedules out (real reason?)
Cons to delay: Boring and we have to wait longer to get started.

Another pro is your team can now enter this tournament and support an amazing cause... namely a little 7 year old girl battling cancer.

Last I heard, the first week's schedule was to be out today with the schedule for the rest of the season out on 9/9. That was my understanding but I am no one so who knows!

I used to say the same thing, but they actually are waiting on other league schedules. Most coaches have teams in other leagues and have multiple teams in SDL. They actually do a lot better job of working around coach's schedule and making things happen.
Be patient, the rest of the weeks will be out very soon.

Joe is absolutely correct. SDL usually does a great job planning around coaches with multiple teams in different leagues. From what I understand one of the reasons for the delay is Plano Premier did not publish their schedule online until Monday. So SDL did not want to wait to release at least the first week of our game play. Since my coach has a select and an academy team I am grateful they wait for the other schedules because unfortuneatly our academy team would probably take the back seat to the select team if there is a conflict.

Understood.
But SDL was originally going to start two weeks ago. They still don't even have the first week's schedule up on the website yet.
Now that Plano Premier has their schedule published, let's get the entire SDL schedule published so families can make plans.
I think it's great that they are working with coaches schedules, but let's not forget about the customers. If you only have one kid playing and they only play SDL, it's no big deal. But some of us have multiple kids and multiple sports. Some of us have to make plans around our job or business.

Re: SDL - Fall Season
Influence? The big reason why coaches choose SDL is because Jason/Rick work with coaches on things like this. Come on. This is not your world and we are living in it. Be patient.
If you get on SDL website, they tell you their plans.

You are joking right? The league starts in 2 days and we are still in the dark except for the first week. That's not being impatient. It's called basic customer service. SDL is the most expensive league right? So what are we getting for the extra money we spend?
If you get on the SDL website, they tell you their plans. The website just says that they have the ability to change the schedules if there is a coaching conflict. So why not just put up the schedules online and make changes if the need arises?
Parents aren't asking for much here. Just a little common courtesy. The only time there is any communication from them is when some kid starts tearing up bushes at Blue Sky.

You're right. Why don't you just quit, ask for your money back and go somewhere else. I've been doing this for last few years, get used to as that is how they do it. I used to say the same things, but welcome to North Texas Soccer.
