Does anyone know where a soccer team could donate gently used gear like bags and/or uniforms to a team or an organization? I'm thinking of something like needy families or 3rd world countries or something like that. Anyone?

I know that GLASA has a donations bin in their office. I bet most other local associations do as well.

LEAYSA does as well but that's only convenient on game days when the concession stand is open. I know they have a collection bin for gently used cleats. I would assume most rec associations will be extremely glad for any donations.

The Soccer Corner stores have/had bins in them for donations of gently used soccer gear for a program titled "Boots for Bolivia" that is run by some local Girl Scouts...to send soccer gear to impoverished areas in Bolivia.

Joel Lilavois ( a locally well-known skills/ tactical trainer) represents a national 501 C3 philanthropy called " Play it Forward", which looks for gently used soccer gear and uniforms to help bring soccer to underprivileged children who suffered major losses during Haiti's earthquake. He is going back to Haiti in January, so any donations he will take directly to the children in need. It's also a tax write off Smile. I can provide you with his number or mine if interested.

The Lake Highlands Soccer Association takes donations either at their office on White Rock Trail or at the Concession stand at Moss. The parents of the fast growing little ones are so grateful for the donated cleates and equipment.
