Kicks North '06 has been a good fit for us so far
My opinion of "Kicks North '06" so far is that it offers better instruction and organization than you find in many recreational soccer teams/leagues (RSA, PYSA, YMCA) but without the high cost, hyper competitiveness, and burdensome time commitments that you can encounter in at least some of the clubs' full-blown academy programs. If you are not familiar with Kicks SC, with their success this past year in the '01s, and with their low cost structure, ask around. I think even Kenshi might have been made a believer.
For my '06 DD, who tends to generally be OK in her soccer skills but lags well behind in athleticism and competitiveness, the Kicks North group has proven to be a fun, positive, cheap, and well-organized option. Somewhat to my surprise, I think she is getting markedly better each time she practices. But the main factor behind her continuing with the group, and why I am comfortable recommending it publicly, is that she clearly is having a lot of *fun*. That she is consistently having fun while being pushed pretty hard to improve is, in her case, a surprise and quite an achievement after several previous failed attempts.
So if this sounds appealing to you, I encourage you to email Androfan at KicksNorth06@gmail.com and ask him any questions you might have. Androfan and Coach Karina seem to have a "come one, come all, everyone is welcome" approach, so I'm confident they would welcome your DD and be happy to have you drop into one or more practices for no cost or commitment.
