TxSoccer.Net Should We Charge? Empty TxSoccer.Net Should We Charge?

Post by Admin 05/07/12, 09:30 am

Understanding that paying a small fee would get their tournament/camp/league/training a sticky at the top and a direct link to the registration site/schedules/details included. I'd also consider banners or ads for people who wanted to spend a little more. This is not to curtail free announcements, just giving the people posting and working this site to make money to give some back to our site. All money raised would go back into this site, it costs money to keep the domain name and to limit forumotion advertising. Also, there are more things we could do with a budget. Keep in mind, admin has no interest in profitting. Please let me know your thoughts or ideas.

Absolutely you should charge. People and organizations are using your website to help generate their profits. Let them pay for it. You've got time and energy into this... and time is money.

Exactly how would yall decide how much this fee is would it be monthly, yearly, something else? I am only around half of the time during school breaks. I know I do a large amount of posting on this site. I am a college graduate student and the majority of what I make pays for my education. I dont have other means of distrusting information other then on here, have a few others that I know would help me get the word out but I cant afford much as far as alternative advertising. My vote would be I wouldnt mind paying a small fee for my Camp stuff however for the individual stuff I feel that should not be, my fees are already low as I want to benefit the goalkeepers I am working with.

I think charging for tounaments and camps would be fine.

Everyday poast should be open and free if you want to keep users coming around.

Charging by the tourney makes the most sense, a flat fee for a set ad. YOu might have 3 options, $25 pack, $50, $75 pack.

I'd leave it up to the Admin to decide what to charge, but I'd believe it should be reasonable.

However, I think anyone earning money by running some sort of event (be it private skills, tournaments, camps, etc.) should pay for the privilege of using the forum for advertising.

I agree with charging the tourneys. If Admin starts charging the individual trainer or skills coach (like ekkeeper1) then we may loose that resource from this site.

I agree with that, alot of the other Car forums and etc that i hang out on all of them charge Advertisers $ and it's not a outragous amount but if ppl are going to advertise or solicit on here then they should pay a small fee to do so imo.

Hell even as a member i would mind donating to paypal for this site if it gave me like a special user "Tag" and access to say "Member" only forum for those that donate.

The Supreme Court has just ruled that you can "tax" anyone in NTSSA that chooses NOT to get a txsoccer.net username and post in the forums. President Obama maintains that it is not a "tax" and that those of us with txsoccer.net usernames will be allowed to keep our usernames.

I think a TXSOCCER.NET Youth Tournament would make plenty of money to keep this site running.

Individuals/groups selling their tranning services?

I didn't know there were services to help you become a tranny. Their target demographic would seem to be very small. I doubt they would have much success advertising on a soccer forum, so charge the crap out of them.

Judging by your avatar, you would be the first to sign up!

OK, charge everybody and add spell check to the site.

I think Admin was talking about an optional service for folks like you who could pay a small fee to have your training thread posted to the top as a sticky. And if you wanted to take it to the next level, invest a little time to develop a banner ad or two and pay a little more to have those placed on the site. I don't think he is implying eliminating your ability to post freely on a thread you create. But with a sticky, you would have to post everyday to keep your thread from being buried where nobody sees it.

I think it's a good idea, Admin.

Would be nice if you could get it, but it is doubtful that it woul dbe sustainable in any way - advertising however is a proven business module which does work. $/page view and more $$ is a link is visited -

I'll be the first one to sign up for a tenner per month. Most of the douchers on here pay for their spaz kids to play footy so they will surely put in $10.
For me, I'm up for paying cuz then I could post porn videos.
