Who Forfeits at the Tut?

Liverpool FC America 02 Daglish! Evidently, the hour and 1/2 rain delay was going to make it difficult on his team to be back on the pitch for the Satuday morning 7am start time. Cry me a river, we (Celtic 02) are/were in the same boat. Although, many of our parents had rented rooms, knowing that a 7am start time would be tough on the girls no matter what. So now what? I guess we get the win. Big deal, we would have rather played and let the girls decide the outcome. I'd rather play and take a loss than this. In a seeding tournment this doesn't seem to help either team. Not to mention that from a parents persepective you have taken away the opportunity for us to watch our girls play, all in the name of an extra hours sleep! What about the gas money, parking, tournament fee(I believe we paid for 4 games just like everyone else....nonrefundable). Maybe next time you see our girls out on the pitch you can come and apologize to them, because they are the ones that actually lost tonight.

What time would the rescheduled game have started tonight? If it was like 9:30 pm give or take 15 minutes, I think I would have forfeited too. It's a coach's decision, and not everyone will be happy about it. This also spotlights the inherent problems with now nearly all youth soccer tournaments are run: Too many games played too close together in too much heat. It's a bad situation; every high level coach, medical professional, and even US Soccer agree. Tournaments suck, plain and simple.

Poor choice by Liverpool coach to forfeit. The 7:00 games got started about 8:05 if you figure in the fact that they cut the half's to 25 minutes, you get done at 9:00 instead of 8:10. Fifty minute delay, nothing to cry over. Bottom line a lot of family s were inconvenienced and a lot of girls were disappointed for no good reason.

An 8:05 start time is completely reasonable. Bad call by the LP coach.

What a lesson to teach the girls! Maybe some needed more beauty sleep than others? Is the lesson here that if you do not want to play or going to get too little sleep, just do not show up? I guess 10 year olds never have sleepovers.

There has to be more to the story or another conflict. Did the coach have other teams in the tournament? No coach would not play because of an hour delay. Anyone from LP out there know?

Incorrect, we started at 10pm last night, finished at 11pm and were on the field warming up at 8am this morning for a 9am game.

I guess king tut forfeits at the king tut. Games cancelled!

You're right, sorry about that. I was only looking at the Gold brackets.

However, I would have traded your 9:00am game for our noon game. It was like playing soccer on the surface of the sun today!

I know the feeling as our 3pm game was awful.
